After the shot was fired, Vanessa immediately shielded Lizzie as they both took cover with everyone else following except for Jay, he just stood in his place frozen in shock as he watches Hailey slowly fall on her knees then everything else around him moved a bit slower as he couldn't believe nor process what he was witnessing. "Hailey," Jay could hear Lizzie shout as she got a peek behind Vanessa, he turned to look at Lizzie, still not processing what was happening in front of him, and he saw Vanessa trying to hold Lizzie back from running towards Hailey.
Jay was still not processing what was going on around him, but everything else around him happened so fast and it was chaotic. Everyone was taking cover, they could hear Lizzie's shouts as she tried to break free from Vanessa's hold, but as much as Vanessa wanted to also run towards Hailey, she didn't budge, as she watched Hailey slowly drop to the ground and her heart just shattered into pieces. "10-1, 10-1! Shots fired at the police, need immediate backup right now," Kevin says into his radio.
"5021 Emergency. I got an officer down. I need an ambulance at our location right now," Kim immediately says into her radio as she sees Hailey on the ground. Adam's car was right beside Jay's and Adam immediately turned to look at Jay, he could see that Jay just stood there in the open, not caring if he could get shot or not which gave Adam the immediate thought of bringing him to cover right away. "Jay," Adam calls out as he makes his way to Jay but as Adam was about to reach Jay, he saw him reach for his gun.
By this time, everyone had their guns pointed to the person they know to be Andre Walker. "Andre Walker, put your weapon down now or we'll shoot," the team could hear Sgt. Voight calling out to Andre Walker. "Put your weapon down now," Kim repeats as she pointed her gun to where she thinks Andre Walker was, everyone wanted to shoot him so badly for Hailey, but none of them could get a clear shot at him.
As Jay heard the on-going chaos around him, it slowly made him process the events that occurred right in front of him, then he looked up at where he heard the gunshot, and right in front of him was a clear shot to Andre Walker, Jay saw that Andre was still pointing his gun at Hailey. "This is for my brother," Jay heard him shout and another gunshot was heard.
