Amara's POV:

Christmas Day

Ever since my birthday, things have been going uphill in life. Finn's trial was last month and he pleaded guilty on all charges and was given a life sentence. I don't have to look over my shoulder constantly. My grades have gotten better and I'm back on track for going UCL next year.

Vincent and I had our first fight a couple of weeks ago too. I had gone to see him fight even though he told me not to come. I know I was in the wrong and I realised that two days after our fight. I apologised and everything was good.

Hazel broke up with Adam, they were having lots of fights and they both knew it wasn't working out so they broke it off. On the other side, Xan and Vanessa were getting better each day. They finally got out of their honeymoon phase and were probably the best couple I knew.

Vincent and I both wanted to celebrate Christmas with our families but with each other too. We ended up deciding that Christmas Lunch would be at my house and then Christmas Dinner would be at his. I know I'm going to burst with the amount of food we are going to end up eating but it's worth it.

The doorbell rings and I go to open it. "Merry Christmas Babe!" I pull him in from the cold and give him a quick peck.

"Merry Christmas love." I take him inside where the whole family was. They all greet each other and I take the sight in. Liam and Vincent were laughing about something. Pandora, Nadia and Mum were talking about their new clothes and Dad was making the turkey in the kitchen. This was my future. And I loved it.

Vincent's POV:

I excuse myself from the living room and go into the hallway to pick up the phone. It was Sebastien. We just had eaten lunch and I was stuffed. Mr Winter made a really good turkey though.

"Hey."

"Bro! Are you coming over for dinner?"

"Yeah, Amara and I are going to leave in a bit."

"You and Amara? I swear she's already in love with you. Why are you still with her?"

"Because I love her back. Bet's off."

"What the fuck? You actually fell for that skank?"

"That is my girlfriend you are talking about." I grit out.

"Whatever man. She's gonna be hella pissed when she finds out."

"She's not going to find out." I cut the call and go back into the living room.

I love Amara so much. I can't tell her about the bet. She doesn't need to know.

Amara's POV

Something was bothering Vincent. Throughout the whole car ride to his house, he stayed quiet. We are always singing along or talking about something in the car.

"Is everything okay?" I ask gently.

"Yeah." He didn't answer anything else so I thought he just needed the space.

We soon reach his house and we get off the car. I walk to his side and intertwined our hands together.

"You know you can talk to me about anything right?"

"I know." He leans in and places a small kiss on my lips. "Let's go."

The dinner was amazing. Mia and Peter were as cute and kind as I remembered. They had prepared dinner together and some of Vincent's extended family was here too. Yeah, creepy Callum was here as well.

Vincent's friends were here too. But there was something going on between them because they stepped outside for a good 15 minutes and slight shouting could be heard from the dining room.

I was staying the night over with Vincent and I was going to get to the bottom of what's bothering him.

"Vincent? Let's talk." I pat the space next to me.

"About what?"

"Why you were so silent in the car."

"I don't have to talk to every second we are together Amara." He starts changing his clothes.

"No, you don't. But I expect you to share how you feel with me."

"Please! Just leave me alone for a bit. I can't deal with this at the moment."

"By this you mean me?" My voice betrayed me as it cracked at the end.

"WHO ELSE?" He yells and I flinch slightly. Even though it was the smallest flinch, Vincent noticed. "Baby I'm sorry."

The tears in my eyes were threatening to fall but I held them in. Vincent takes a step closer towards me but I get up.

"I think I'll stay in the guest room tonight." I pick up my phone and walk out of the room.

"Amara come back. Please." I ignore him as I walk downstairs to the kitchen. As suspected Julie was still here.

"Julie? Is there a guest room I can stay in?" I ask softly as I stand near the kitchen door.

"Is everything okay sweetie?" She comes closer and I use everything in me to stop the tears from falling.

I nod instead of using my words. "I just need some space." She nods and takes me upstairs.

The room was on the same floor as Vincent's but it was on the other end of the corridor.

"Let me know if you need anything." She kisses my head and leaves me.

The room was bland. It had white walls and a small desk next to the door. The bed was placed in the middle but before I could get there my legs give up and I drop to the ground crying.

I try to think of something I might have done to upset Vincent but nothing came to mind. He was fine at my place.

I wipe my tears and get to the bed. I just needed decent sleep and everything would be okay.

My eyes flutter open and I notice something heavy on me. I gently turn and see it was Vincent's arm lazily on my waist. He was already awake and was staring at me.

"Morning," I say quietly.

"Morning." He pulls me closer and I snuggle against his bare chest. "I'm sorry."

"I know."

"It's just something the boys said and it got me irritated." I look up and see that he was lying. His pupils were slightly dilated and he spoke a little too fast.

"Mhmm." He probably has a reason for lying and not telling me the truth. I don't want a repeat of last night so I don't say anything.

"I couldn't sleep last night. Not when I knew you were upset because of me." I pull him even closer. "I love you. I really do but sometimes I act like a complete idiot."

"Sometimes? That's an understatement." He grunts and I chuckle. "I love you too."

C's POV:

It's been over one month since I left Amara's life as C. Even though I have been miserable, I can see the happiness on my angel's face so it's worth it. She's going to be with me forever now anyway.

I look at her room and it was nearly done. The walls were painted light grey, bringing out the white carpet on the ground. The queen-sized bed was placed on the right side of the room. I even built her a desk next to her white cupboards in case she wanted to do some work.

I know I shouldn't but I have also placed tiny cameras in the corners of her room. It's for her safety at the end of the day. I have to make sure I can completely trust her before removing them. She's going to love her new room.

I can't wait to bring her home.
