"You are so gorgeous Amara," Tyler Blackwell bought his soft hand to my face and gently tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. I blush with how close we were and our lips only inches away. He starts to lean in, his hand still on my cheek. My eyes flutter shut and I lean in too, feeling completely relaxed but excited that I was finally having my first kiss with TYLER BLACKWELL! His lips only mere centimetres away from mine and I could feel his cool breath, I lean in to seal the ga-

RING RING RING

The bell of end of period rings and I jump a little, realising I had fallen asleep again. I cuss myself under my breath for sleeping again in the library. I quickly start stuffing my pens in my pencil case and grab my notepad. I sling my bag on my back and start running out of the library.

"No running Amara!" Mrs Smith shouts at me as I zoom past her.

"Sorry!" I send an apologetic smile and see her shake her head in amusement. I have spent a lot of time in the library, so Mrs Smith cuts me some slack. She figured out that I was alone and had no one during after the whole Raven situation so she used to spend some of her lunches sitting with me and talking about her favourite books.

I rush through the corridors, barging past the annoying year 7s who think they're suddenly really important. Most of them shout at me for pushing them but I have to get to Psychology on time or Mr Anderson will give me a detention. I've been late for his lessons way too many times this year even though school just started this month.

The corridors were getting emptier as the kids went into their classes and I ran across the corridor and into my class.

"I made it!" I pant out, still out of breath from my marathon downstairs.

"Amara, please take your seat." Mr Anderson said whilst his eyes stayed on the computer screen.

I nod, even though he wasn't looking and go sit with Xander.

"Late again?" He raises an eyebrow at me and I roll my eyes and punch him lightly. "Ow!"

"I fell asleep in the library again," I say with my shoulders slumped. My new neighbours think it is appropriate to be throwing parties every other day and I can't sleep when their music is blasting into my room.

"You should go tell your neighbours that they need to stop playing loud music or you're going to file for an injunction," Xander says when he sees how tired I look. My dark circles make me look like a racoon.

"Okay class, today's topic is Gender Bias in Psychological research." Mr Anderson says and I start writing my notes.

"I need everyone to complete the 16 mark essay on Gender Bias by tomorrow's lesson!" Mr Anderson yells at us whilst we pack up.

Xander and I have been friends since year 7 but we only started hanging out last year. Xander is 5ft 11 with brown hair that flops down over his forehead. He has brown eyes which are covered by his glasses all the time because he is blind as a bat and can't see anything without them.

"My sister is coming home today," I moan.

"I thought Pandora wasn't coming for another two days?" Vanessa adds from the other side of me and I jump.

"Vanessa! Do not sneak up on me like that!" I laugh a little and she just gave me her bubbly smile. "Yeah, she wasn't meant to but she finished her modelling gig early. You know how gorgeous she is, she doesn't need retakes or 1000 pictures." I say with an eye roll.

Pandora was everything you want in a girl. No one in the school other than Vanessa, Xander and Hazel knew I was related to her. We didn't even look like far relatives. We shared the same hair but she has these piercing blue eyes that made all the boys weak in the knees whilst I was stuck with boring brown eyes. She has the perfect grades, she's successful as a fashion designer and models with designer brands all the time!
