Day 17: Sleepily Sad - Nanocoffee Oneshot

Kim's POV:

I walk back towards the front door of Panda Labs. Today was a bad day. I went to go and talk to Zoey, but instead, Rythian was there. Whenever I go to Blackrock and he's there, my day goes from great to Hell. Why, you ask? Because he punches and kicks me. The mage always gets drunk, and by the night time, if he isn't trying to strip me down, he's trying to kill me with all of his might.

"And this is for Duncan. And all the time's he's fucked me over!" He cries that out to me every time, and it's terrible, I know. But it's monthly I have to deal with this, and I've never told Duncan. He would sure as hell make sure I never saw him again, making me unable to see Zoey.

Everything was painful, since last night, he shot me with magic until I blacked out from the pain. Taking another step forward, I get a shot of pain in my left side and wince from the pain.

"Kim? Is that you?" I heard Duncan call out from the top room.

"Yeah... It's me." I said, trying to act as if I was fine. He rushed outside and helped me in, and I went upstairs to the room with our beds (I'm just going to make them have a bathroom) and quickly checked the mirror in the bathroom.

I looked at my appearance. My hair was very messy and my kimono was slightly ripped. My skin was extremely pale and I looked as if I was about to pass out. Peering at my left side, I see a big purple bruise covered in dry blood which I decided to clean. I took another look, and I had several scars in the shapes of letters, spelling out 'Rythian'. Tears dripped onto the new scars, and I wince at the pain once again. I walked back out to Duncan.

"Are you okay?" He asked, noticing my pale skin and weak body.

"I'm.. I'm fine." I said, taking a step forward but collapsing into his arms before I could do anything about it.

"Kim? Come on. I'll run you a bath." He said, carrying me bridal style up the stairs and turning the taps to the side, letting the water gush out of them. After letting the bath fill up, he then adds bubble bath, stirring it around and lets me undress myself, however he still insisted on lifting me into the bath. Thoughts were filling my head at this point, but the one that was standing out was: He surely must have noticed the purple side and bloody scar spelling out his worst enemies name.

I attempted to relax while he smothered my hair with shampoo and washed it off, as well as conditioner. He sighed after finishing my hair and finally spoke; "I don't want to wash your body, just because I don't want to hurt you."

"It's fine, I'll just shower again tomorrow." I replied, and he smiled while he lifted me out of the bath, and dried me off with a towel. The blonde disappeared and shortly returned with a pair of fluffy pyjamas which he helped me get dressed in, being extra careful around my wounds.

After getting comfortable on my own two feet for a short while, the Scientist unexpectedly picked me up and sat me on the edge of his bed, closest to where the wall sockets are. I turned to look at him.

"What are you doing?" I questioned him. He moved me back into my original position and  reached into my drawer and grabbed the hair dryer, brush and straighteners and began his magic, doing everything perfectly. After he mastered the art of perfecting my hair, I turned around to face him, sitting cross-legged, matching him.

"How did you..." I got distracted by him reaching down into my draw again, grabbing the red and orange flower clip and putting it exactly where it normally goes.

"I take notice of a lot of small things you do." He smiled, lying down and pulling me up close to him. Now it was his turn to face me. "You really are beautiful." He said, laying his hand on my cheek.

"Thank you, for everything." I said, cuddling into his chest while breathing in his scent.

"No problem, Kim." He smiled, and his breathing shortly calmed me, sending me straight to sleep.
