Kim's POV:

I stood on mountain top, this world had became very different over the last few years. Animals changed over time, and eventually the first dragon was born in this dimension. And just in the time scale of a year, there were dragons everywhere. These creatures fascinated me, there was something about having the ability of breathing fire on something or someone you didn't like. Or being born with the ability to fly. It all amazed me.

Duncan had managed to study these creatures for a while, and eventually create an injection that would evolve both of our cats into these dragons, and they would already be tamed to us. So after time, our cats turned into mythical creatures, and here I was, sat on top of a mountain watching Totoro flying around in the clouds above me.

She was a beautiful dragon. Her skin was jet black, with purple swirls running up the arms, along with a purple patch right at the end of the tail. The pupil of her eyes matched the swirls, letting off a soft glow whenever she was in dark places. Her wings were broad and strong, with a purple rim that glowed just as her eyes did, and her teeth were practically hidden until needed.

Whereas Duncan's dragon looked like her, she didn't have any of the purple on her, but still had a green radioactive sign where her wings joint on to her back. This symbol glowed whenever she was angry, and her teeth would automatically show. Instead of fire, she shot plasma bolts which would actually kill a person if fully charged.

I saw a figure next to me, one that I recognized. The scientist hopped off of Tiddles and quickly smiled towards me before talking.

"Hey." He smiled, admiring the two cat-like dragons playing.

"Hey." I managed to say back after being mesmerized after them. They really did look like best friends, or soul mates.

The two of us messed around, hoping for the best as the day turned into dusk, then into night. We got the fire starting with a little help from the dragons, and ended up sitting by it as the cold winter winds nipped at my thin clothing. It took me a while to realize, but I was shivering from the cold.

"Are you okay?" Duncan said, moving closer to me. I nodded my head.

"A bit cold." I added. The dragons moved over to us from where they were and snuggled up to us, making a little make-do shelter for the two of us.

"These creatures are extraordinary." Duncan said, in awe at how much they understood us.

"I know, but you technically made them." I said, making him turn a shade of pink.

"Well, I suppose." He said, putting an arm around me before turning to look at me.

"You know, I don't know if it's because I'm tired, or the cold's messing with my head, but you look beautiful tonight." He smiled. I let out a giggle, thinking about what he had just said.

"Thank you. For a sleepless scientist, you don't look too bad yourself." I joked.

The rest of the night was spent in cuddles after the dragons went to sleep, and eventually we went home in the morning, returning to our normal lives once again.
