"Ugh! Papa, no one is even offering to help me unload my stuff. I literally have to do it myself. Can you please send Jeffrey over to do this for me? I have too many stuff to carry!" Kairi complained to his father over the phone. The boy was the sole child of a millionaire, so of course he had grown up spoiled and didn't have to do anything for himself so when he finally moved away from home at 20 years old, he didn't know how to function on his own.
"I'm sending him right over, Kai. Call me if you need anything else okay son?" Mr. Cosentino replied. "Okay, bye Papa." Kairi answered and with that he hung up. He waited only a mere five minutes before Jeffrey, one of his father's many household helpers showed up to help Kairi as was promised. "Hi Jeff, just bring those boxes up to the penthouse on the last floor please." Kairi exclaimed as he sat back and watched his butler do all of the heavy lifting.
"Thank you, Jeffrey. I'll definitely talk to my father about giving you a raise, you deserve it." Even if Kairi was spoiled, he was raised with respect. "Here's some money for your gas, please be safe on the drive back to the house." He called out before stepping into the elevator.
Going all the way to the top floor of the building, Kairi entered his new penthouse apartment. His eyes scanned over his surroundings and he was pleased to see that the place looked exactly how it did when he first visited. He continued on, walking further into the house until something peculiar caught his attention. The was a photo frame hung up on the wall in the living room. In the photo there was a tall male who seemed around Kairi's age and a slightly shorter female who looked in her mid forties.
"What the hell, why is this picture in my house?" Kairi questioned as he took the picture off of the wall. He held the frame as he walked into the hallway where the bedrooms and bathrooms were. As he approached the bedroom at the end of the hall, one of the doors opened and a man stepped out. He was wet, obviously from getting out the shower and his towel was loosely wrapped around his waist.
The two nearly bumped into each other but Kairo quickly backed up. "Ahh, what are you doing in my house?!" Kairi exclaimed as he glared at the stranger. "Excuse you? This is my house, now get out before I throw you out." The man replied with as he walked closer to the small boy. "No, this is my house. My father bought it for me, I even have the key as proof." Kairi said with a sassy tone. Mattia looked at the boy with a heated glare before stepping forward, cornering Kairi against the wall.
"Look, I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but don't catch an attitude with me because I won't hesitate to put you in your place. Got it?" Kairi just gave the man an unimpressed look as he roll his eyes.
"GOT IT?" The man asked as he raised his voice causing Kairi to flinch and dropped the photograph that was in his hand, the glass shattering all over the floor. The man looked down at the mess, noticing the picture that was broken. "Did you just break a framed photo of me and my mother?!" He exclaimed angrily. Kairi winced back, but quickly composed himself. "If it's that important to you, I'll just buy you a new frame asshole, but you have no right to be yelling at me when you are intruding in my house! Now get out!" He yelled trying to make his voice equally as loud as the other's, but failed due to his naturally soft tone.
"I'm calling the building manager." The stranger mumbled. "I want you out of my house." Kairi scoffed. "Well I'm calling my father! He'll show you proof that he bought this place. And while he's at it, he'll buy the whole building too!" Kairi shouted as he pulled out his phone to call his father.
"Papa? Yeah, we have a problem..."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS WAS A MISTAKE???!!!" Mr. Cosentino yelled at the building's landlord. "I bought this pent- house specifically for my son. I paid for it months ago." Kairi looked over at the man with a smug smile. "But I also bought this penthouse, I came by two weeks ago and made my deposit." The stranger grumbled.
The landlord sighed. "I'm terribly sorry for this inconvenience Mr. Polibio, but the Cosentinos are right. They did buy this house first, so I have no choice but to hand it over to them." He spoke. After the landlord left, it was time for 'Mr. Polibio' to pack up his stuff and leave. Kairi was sitting in his living room as he waited for the stranger to leave his house.
"Hey, mom? Yeah, it's me. I've run into a problem and I'm gonna need to move back home for a bit while I look for a place if that's okay." There was a pause while the other person spoke. "I know mama, I'll start looking for new places in the morning. I'll be back home later tonight, love you."Kairi leaned against the wall listening in on the conversation. He felt bad that the landlord was such a dumbass which caused this man to be homeless. So instead of turning his back on the stranger, Kairi did something surprising. "Um, excuse me Mr. Polibio?" Kairi tapped the man's shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm trying to get all my stuff out as soon as possible." The stranger grumbled as he waved the shorter off.
"No, um I was actually going to ask you if you wanted to stay here. We could be roommates if you'd like. I feel bad for yelling at you before, it wasn't your fault. And I'd hate to know that someone wound up homeless because of me. So if you want, you can stay." Kairi stated as he looked up at the guy. "Are you sure?" Mr. Polibio asked as he looked down at Kairi. "Yeah, I mean there's enough space for two people and it benefits both of us actually..." Kairi answered. "How does this benefit you?" The stranger raised a brow.
'Well first off, I'd get to live with a hot roommate.' Kairi thought, a blush forming on his cheeks. "Um, well I've never actually lived alone so it would make me feel better to have someone else around the house." Kairi replied. "Alright, I'll stay. But we should probably have some house rules." Kairi frowned. "Like what?" He asked.
"Well one, don't go in my room. Ever. Understood?" Kairi nodded, he had no intention of doing so. "Next is just the basics like ask before using something of mine and general privacy, blah blah blah." Kairi agreed. "Okay, um well I'm Kairi. We never got to properly introduce ourselves." Kairi extended his hand for a handshake.
"I'm Mattia." Kairi's now roommate shook his hand with a firm grip. "Cool, well I'll be in my room unpacking." Kairi said as he turned and headed towards the door at the end of the hall, but Mattia quickly stopped him. "Actually that's my room. This one is yours." Kairi slightly frowned since he really wanted the bedroom that had the bigger closet, but just nodded and went into the room opposite to it. This would have to do.
