I was on a mission.

I waited until Kairi left for his dentist appointment and quickly got ready for the day.

Today was special. I was going ring shopping with Kairi's dad.

I loved Kairi so much and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

I drove to the Cosentino Mansion, picking up Mr. Cosentino. We had gotten quite close in the months that me and Kairi were dating. He had become the father figure that I needed.

When I asked for Kairi's hand in marriage he immediately approved and even offered to help me pick the ring.

He did know Kai best after all, so why not.

We were now at an expensive looking jewelry store in town. We walked up to the counter looking at all of the rings that were being displayed.

They were all nice, but I wanted the perfect one. I wanted one that Kairi would love.

We spent almost an hour just looking through the rings before a specific one caught our eye.

It was made of sterling silver and had diamonds that went along its circumference. Plus it was from one of Kairi's favourite brands, Cartier.

"This is the one." I say staring at it in awe through the glass. Mr. Cosentino looks down and gasps.

"He'll love it."
