For the very last time, it would appear, I had managed to escape the bunker. On a literal suicide mission. I was caught, of course, just after I crawled into a cremator of mortuary and was about two seconds away from using my power to turn it on. It was the police, who caught me. I wasn't fast enough to kill myself before the security alarm lured them in.
So there I sat, in jail, refusing to call anyone, and contemplating breaking out. Which I could do quite easily. But then the people in the station wouldn't be safe...because I was starving.
I did my best to keep my distance from the bars, and waited for the inevitable appearance of one of my brothers or Cas. Not surprisingly, Sam, was the one to come down the hall, accompanied by a guard ready with a key. His face was contorted with pity and disappointment, then anxiety as he noticed me flinch and resist the temptation to attack the officer who pulled me out.
"Thanks," he said dryly to the guard, taking my arm in his own hand,"I got it from here."The man nodded. "Hey, uh, we've got loads of resources for this kind of situation...if you want to get her help-"
"No, uh, we're good, thanks," Sam dismissed him before dragging me off.
He practically shoved me into the passenger seat of his truck without a word, then tossed a blood bag in my lap roughly before starting the engine. I couldn't help but rip it open and slurp at it voraciously before speaking. I had it all gone by the time we hit the highway.
"Sam.." I sighed out into the silence. My huffed through his nose, clenching his teeth.
"You know...we got enough going on, as it is, Haze.""So stop worrying about me," I muttered back.
He scoffed.
"You know we won't. So...how bout you stop pulling this crap? I mean, do even you care anymore, or is everything about you, now?""Of course not-"
"Really?" He snapped more loudly, "Because from where I'm standing, I'm wasting time bailing you out from a B&E and suicide attempt, when I'm supposed to be meeting up with Cas to help Dean."
"I'm sorry...what are you meeting for?"
"Do you care?"
"Of course I care!" I growled, then relaxed myself with a deep breath, "can I help?"
"Yeah, maybe," he said distractedly.
"Are you going to tell him...?" I asked meekly. His face and his mind spilled it all. He already did. "Great...so what does Dean think we're doing?"
"Seeing a movie out of town," he answered, pulling into the turning lane to change highways.
After a long pause, I let myself feel guilty. Poor Sam, he'd been carrying alot of weight between his two extremely messed up siblings forever, and one of them just tried to kill herself again.
"Thank you, Sammy...I-its not much I know but-""Any time..." he breathed, gesturing ahead at that ugly car I dreaded, "There's Cas."
I hesitated getting out when we parked behind him, not only because I didn't want to see him, but also because it was the middle of the day and the sun was no longer my friend.
But I knew it was going to happen, so I waited for the opportunity to hide in my brothers giant shadow and put on my sunglasses.
"Shouldn't secret meetings be at night? Not in broad frickin daylight?" I complained lowly.Sam half turned to me just as the angel got out of his own car.
"Yeah well, you were supposed to be home with Dean, asleep..." he grumbled before addressing Cas, "Thanks for coming, Cas.""Of course," he said pleasantly, flicking a sneaky glare at me, "Where's Dean?"
"This is about, Dean," Sam answered.
