There is No Freedom

Though it was technically a victory, killing Magnus and obtaining the First Blade, there was no celebration. It was a somber ride back home. All were concerned over what we witnessed happen to Dean with the accursed thing in his hand. And then there was me.

The same wards that saved my life, were proven to be just as deadly with but a few spoken words. I'd never felt so violated. At any time, someone who knew something about it could take control of me and my power. It was the worst feeling in the world.

My brothers were furious. And no one called Cas, yet. We agreed I'd meet up and tell him myself.

So, after food and sleeping off the stress of the day, Dean came in my room and woke me up with a poke in the ribs.
"Hazey."

I groaned from deep under the covers and curled in a tighter ball. Coming out of a series of nightmares.
"If there's no coffee in your hand, turn back now," I growled lowly.

"Or what? You gonna smite me, miss almighty? Coffee's been on for an hour, sunshine. Get up."

"Ugh...why?"

"Cause I got a surpise for you."

I peaked my head out.
"...surpise?"

"Yup. So, " he slapped my ass very hard, "rise and shine!"

I roared wordlessly at him.
"Did you really just-...ugh! Fine!"

The stinging of the spank was effective at least. It ignited angrier parts of me and I was quick to dress in my armor once more. I knew I was getting better. Being a little more normal. But they didn't seem to see how easily all the different castles switched back and forth. Only Hate wouldn't come out to play. And now, War and Valor were in charge most of the time. They made me dress this way even when they weren't around.

As promised, coffee was still hot and ready in the pot when I went in the kitchen for it. Once I had steaming mug in hand, I found my brothers waiting in the library. Both appeared to have been up and finished with their morning routines for some time now. Just how late did I sleep?

Their hearts bleed at me with mixed signals as I sat down. Excited for the surpise, which they carefully struggled to keep our of their thoughts, and also troubled by what we learned of my situation.

"So um, Hazel," Sam began, "we know you want to stay and help find Abadon.."

"The Black Knight must die," I agreed, murmuring into my coffee.

"But, you got another job to do," Dean said seriously.

A gravelly sigh pushed out from deep in my chest. "Enzio..."

"Yeah. And fast," Dean said, getting up from the chair and motioning for us to follow.

Curious, if not frustrated with how well he was hiding his thoughts, I followed him down to the garage, where he flipped the lights on to reveal that the Queen had been recovered, but she was hurt. Her face was smashed in. I let out a squeal as if it were my child.

"What did you do!?" I cried hoarsely.

"Whoa whoa, we found it like that!" Sam defended quickly.

"Point is, she's not in running," Dean said regretfully, "but something else is."

He moved around me, past the Queen and Baby and several other vehicles, while I apprehensively followed. Stopping in front of something considerably smaller, concealed under a vinyl cover.
I squinted and raised a brow at him.
"My Ninja? How's that a surpise?" I said into his giddy grinning face, which dropped with a roll of his eyes.
