twenty-one: the rule

I have to admit, the offices and the building is better then ours in London but I'm still can't complain, I love my job and I love my office.

The meeting went so well there were so much participation from everyone and Christian were so happy about our participation.
I had to keep some laughs sometimes because the New York accent is so funny to me and they also talk really loudly.

After the meeting we of course go back to the hotel and then everyone goes to visit New York by themselves or in little groups.
Of course Scar and I met up with Nathan and then he took us to the two museum that I was going  to visit .
Scar was so bored looking at the paintings. She is the friend of the group that doesn't like those things and call me and Nathan 'nerds'.

After we decide to go to the Brooklyn bridge and then we ended up to be in a boat with Christian and some of his friends and be surrounded by illuminated skyscrapers and the wind through our hair.

Unfortunately our night ends too quickly. I'm kidding, It's not true but it felt like that. To be honest we went to bed at five in the morning and then wakes up at eight because we wanted to visit and take advantage of the last hours that we have to spend here in the most dreamed New York City!

The way back to London is full of sadness and of course this time we fight in economy because I didn't wanted Christian to spend his money.
We all slept to recover the hours of no sleep.l but Scar and I where more comfortable because Nathan was sit between us two so we used him and his shoulders as pillows.

Scar was so sad about the way back home. It's kinda sad because we had an amazing view from our hotel room and the city felt like the most dreamed American dream of every teenage girl.
At least, I'm happy to go back to home, I missed my bed and I missed Hero. Yeah, I freaking missed our cuddles and I can sound ridiculous and pathetic but when I was looking through that hotel glass wall I was hoping that he also could come.
I created images of us in the beautiful but chaotic New York city, tickling each other and cuddling in that king size bed that were larger than my actual room.

When we landed and got our baggages I hug  Christian thanking him for the amazing opportunity and experience and then after wished a good night, Scar and I get in Nathan's car.
We first drive home Scar and then he drives me at my apartment.
"Thank you so much do the ride and I'm so happy to had the chance to know you better. You're such a sweetheart." I say looking at him closing the trunk door and the he opens his arms.
"Oh shut up. I'm too soft for this." he giggles while I'm still wrapped at him.
I step back and look at his sleepy eyes and his sweet smile.
I don't knew his parents but one thing that I know about is that their raised this guy so freaking well.
"See you tomorrow?" ask and he nods so I walk all excited to the apartment.
While in the elevator I'm trying to picture Hero's reaction. If he is sleeping I'm going to sneak into his bed.

My hearts beats after once in front the apartment door and then I open the door carefully.
Thankfully the apartment is still an apartment and isn't massy.
I take my shoes off and then I leave my trolley at the entrance and I go in Hero's search.
I'm really excited to see him. I really missed him and the fact that in fe seconds I'm going to be able to get free cuddles again ...
I place my hand on the handle of his bedroom door and after took a deep breathe I open it carefully.
My smile dies.
I see his head come out from his blankets but then I see some long and brunette hair on the pillow next to his.
A sadness mixed to disappointment invades my chest while my heart beats painfully on my chest.
I walk in to look at the face of the girl and then I recognize her. Chanal.
Chanal is sleeping on his chest like I used to do three days ago.
"What the fuck Hero!" I yell letting all out.
So he rises his head. He has puffy eyes because of the poor sleep, massy hair and an accent of beard on his chin.
"You're back." he says with his raspy voice.
I look at the floor and now it's not just covered by the moquette but also with her clothes.
That what I meant that night. That's what I was scared of. He just need me to be out of here to hookup with Chanal that he said that is not his type.
«Wait, it's not what are you thinking." He says standing up and then the princess wakes up mumbling something.
The blankets falls from his body and then reveals his naked body and his pair of boxers.
Oh amazing. Just boxers.
Then he looks down at him and he whispers a "Fuck" knowing what I'm thinking.
At this point I don't give a damn about with who he have sex I just care about that he broke the most important rule, 'no other girl can sleep under this roof besides me'
"Jo." he says looking at me so mortified.
"Oh fuck you." I say closing the door loudly and then call Nathan.
I need to get out of here.
"Hey are you far away yet?" I ask.
"Not really. Why?" she asks suspicious.
"Can you come back?" I ask.
"Yeah? I'll be there in two minutes." he says hanging up.
"Jo wait. Jo." he says wrapping his long fingers around my wrist.
I turn in his direction. Just look at him it hurts me so deeply. I spend all this time thinking about him and he was having sex with her under this roof.
"It's not like you think." he whispers.
"I don't give a fuck. You broke the rule. I want her out of here. Now." I say taking my wrist off  his grip.

God why I'm feeling all this pain on my chest?

"Okay okay, but listen, I made her sleep here because we were dru-" he try to explain.
I interrupt him. He has no rights to explain himself .
"I don't give a damn Hero! I'm out and if when I'll be back I'll find something hers, you're out." I say while he starts puts some pants in front of me.
I open the door and I walk to the elevator.
I close the doors right in front his face and then I look at myself on the mirrors around the walls.
I can read my own pain through my eyes.

I really thought that someday maybe we two could try to be something but nope.
Scar, I'm sorry but with this you lost all the points that you had. He is what I thought he is.

When I'm finally out of the building that felt like hell I run to Nathan's car and then I quickly go in.
Nathan is looking at me scared and preoccupied and then I see his look place on something else.
I turn and I see Hero walk out of the complex just wearing his Grey sweatpants and then when he sees me he try to run to us.
"Nathan please let's go." I say. So he press the accelerator and I see Hero give up and place his hands on his head .

"I'm sorry for calling you right back." I say interrupting the silence while I'm still feeling a something that I can't understand. I think it's anger towards myself because I got too attached to him.
"No stop. It's alright but now ... what happened?" he asks looking at me with the corner of his eyes.
"It's just I caught his sleeping with an another girl and he broke one of the rules. I just can't look at him right now." I say.
"Okay so... are you coming at mines?" he asks.
