1. When I started writing this book the only thing I had in mind was the storyline. It had a bit of everything. The fact that there is no specific genre that this book fits into is my favourite part regarding it.

2. I am an avid reader. Ever since I picked up my first book the beauty of it captured me. As far as I am concerned the author has immense power. The thought that I could build a world from scratch blows my mind till date. It makes me continue writing.

3. I started writing at the age of eight. That was the year my brother made me read a novel. Till that day I was very against the idea of novels. I couldn't understand how people wanted to read a single story that stretched for hundreds of pages when they could read short stories instead. That novel however hooked me and I just kept reading more and wanting to spin my own tales.

4. I don't get blocks all that often and it is actually quite rare. What happens is I lose interest in the story. The book that won is actually the only one I have kept at for so long. I don't know how it happened it just clicked and I frankly just wanted to read the story and realised that in order to read it I would have to write it first.

5. I am an aspiring author myself. Throughout my journey all I have learnt is that I had to be persistent that I have to sit down and write. There are days where the words just flow and my characters just speak to me and that is what I enjoy about it. So basically just keep writing.

6. My writing is based solely on the idea of a book I would love to read. One that has mystery, romance, suspense and cliffhangers. It is based on my idea of what people aka my characters do in certain situations and what led them to do what they did. I wanted to showcase the conflict of emotions. But the whole idea of it is one I have seen but never come close to experiencing.

7. I dance and read. Both of them are my escape routes. Book help me understand and travel the world, they spur emotions. Books make me laugh and smile and at times cry for hours. The emotions that are portrayed on the stage, the idea of telling a story with my body and the pure joy I get from it draw me to dance. As a Bharatnatyam dancer it brings me closer to my roots and helps me embrace my beautiful traditions.

Thank you for your time and for the interview. It is literally one of the best organised awards I have seen on this platform and the work you do is greatly appreciated.
