The next day

The school day was over and I kept feeling my phone vibrate in my pocket. I looked at my phone and seen my mom was texting me not to come home because my dad was drinking again.

I sighed and put my head in my hands. I was just stuck in my thoughts when they got interrupted.
"What's wrong Bae?" Jahseh sweet voice asks
"My dad is drinking again" I say not lifting my head up. He smacked his lips.
"My mom wants me to come with you because she doesn't feel safe with me being at the house" I say
"That says something" he says
"What's says something?" I asked finally lifting my head up.
"The fact that she doesn't feel safe with you around your dad" he says
"Oh" I say looking down
"Put your head up" he says. I looked up at him.
"When are you going back home?" He asks
"I don't know probably tomorrow" I reply. I put my head back down. He lifts my head back up by my chin.
"Your too beautiful to be havin your head down. Remember what I always say.....keep your head up my beautiful queen" he says making me smile. He smiled at my smile.
"Thanks Jah" I thank him
"Mhm" he says

The bus arrived and we got on. I sat by the window as always and just looker out the window. I was quiet.
"Bae" Jahseh says. I looked at him.
"What's on your mind?" He asks
"Nothing" I responded looking back out the window.
He grabbed my jawline and turned my head so I was looking at him.
"Mama don't lie to me....I know when you're not okay.....something is bothering you" he says
"Oh...your dad isn't it" he says. I nodded my head
"Don't worry about it. It's not your fault" he comfort me
"I just feel like he doesn't love me" I say hearing my voice crack as I was about to cry.
"He's your dad...why wouldn't he love you?" He questioned
"Because if he really loved and cared about me he would've stopped drinking for the sake of his daughter" I said letting a tear escape. Jahseh seen my tear and the look on his face broke my heart.
"Don't cry mama" he says sweetly as he wiped my tear.

We got off the bus and walked into his house. His parents were still outta town.
"I have a surprise for you" he says
"Go sit on the couch and close your eyes" he says. I did as told and heard him run super the stairs and back down.
"Okay open your eyes" he says. I opened my eyes to see an expensive necklace box that he was holding. He gave me the box. I opened it and on the inside was a gold necklace with a pendant that was half of a heart. With rhinestones on it.
"Jahseh" I said in awe
"Look bae" Jahseh said. I looked at him and he pulled down his hoodie a little revealing him wearing the same necklace with the other half of the heart.
"Jahseh you didn't have to" I said
"But I wanted to" he says
He grabs the necklace and puts it on my neck. At that moment I just broke down.
"Don't cry" he says. He grabs my hands making me stand up and I hug him, wrapping my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my back. I let the tears fall.
"I love you" I say. He pulled away and grabbed my jawline making me look up at him.
"Always know that I love you more" he says making me cry more. We continued hugging me and he was holding me tight, embracing me.

My phone vibrated. I checked to see what it was. They were texts from my dad.

I read it, put my phone down and put my face in my hands.
"Bae?" Jahseh says
"Hm" I say
"What's wrong?" He asks. I pulled out my phone and showed him the text.
"Your not going home" he says
"But then he's gonna get more mad" I said
"I don't give a fuck how mad he gets....if your mom feels safer when your with me then that's just how she feels" he says. I then got a text from my mom but my phone was in Jahseh's lap. I saw the screen light up.

Jahseh looker at my phone and gave it to me.
"She's right" he says handing me my phone
"I wanna take you somewhere and we can a day to ourselves since we don't have school" he says
"Jahseh you really don't have to" I say
"But I want to so I will" he says getting up. He was upstairs for a while before he came back down with two backpacks.
"What are those for?" I asked
"Clothes. This one is for me and this one is for you. I packed clothes that were too small for me that I thought would fit you." He says
"Awww Seh" I say
"Anything for you" he says smiling. I smiled back at him.
"Ight come on" he says opening the front door. I stood and walked out the door with him followed behind me. He opened my door and I sat in the passenger seat. He walked around and sat in the driver's seat and put the backpacks in the backseat. We were driving when I felt my eyes getting heavier. I kept trying to keep my eyes open.
"Don't fight it mama.....just rest" he says and with that I was out like a light.
