Baby

"Will you be ok, baby?"

"Yes, FP stop worrying." Alice said smiling. She was 39 weeks pregnant and was lying on the sofa at home. FP walked up to Alice and kissed her cheek and then her belly. He was so excited for this baby because it was his and Alice's first ever child.

"Call me anytime."

"Yes I will." With that, FP walked out of the door to go to work.

"What should we watch today?" Alice asked her bump. "Real Housewives?" The baby girl in Alice's tummy kicked so she took that as a yes. Alice was avidly watching the programme when she felt a cramp like pain in her tummy but she dismissed it. Then another cramp came and was slightly more painful but again she dismissed it. However when she stood up she saw a wet patch on the sofa. "Oh my god!" Alice gasped. She fumbled for her phone and called FP.

"Hey hun, are you ok?" FP casually said down the phone.

"I think I'm having the baby - my waters just broke."

"Oh my god, I'll be right there, hold on baby."

"Ok, love you." Alice said putting down the phone and waited on the sofa until FP got home.

"I'll get the bag." FP said immediately as he opened the door." Alice only nodded as she was wincing on the sofa from the pain. FP ran down the stairs and helped Alice up. He held her hand and walked her over to the front door.

"Wait." Alice said.

"What, what's wrong?" FP asked, concerned.

"I just wanna take it in before it's so chaotic." Alice said looking around the house and then up at FP. "I love you."

"I love you too." FP said reaching for the door handle. He helped Alice into the car and drove as quick as he could to the hospital.

Once they got to the hospital, FP got a wheelchair and checked Alice in. She was quickly whisked away to a private room and hooked her up to all the machines.

"FP, I can't do this." She said to her boyfriend who was next to her.

"Yes you can Alice, you're the strongest girl I know." With that, Alice started to push. Beads of sweat were dripping down her forehead which FP quickly wiped away with a damp flannel.

Eventually the baby was born and handed to Alice. "I did it." she muttered to FP.

"I told you could do it!" FP smiled at Alice and kissed both his girls.

"Have you got any ideas on what you'll call her?" The doctor said.
