"She'll never love you like I can!" Alice shouted with tears streaming down her face.

"I have to Alice, I have to go back to her, she's my wife and I have to least give her another try." FP replied calmly.

With that said, Alice just walked out. She couldn't say anything else for FP to change his mind. She didn't need to say she loved him because that was so obvious with how desperate she was that he didn't leave her.

FP was still stood where he had been arguing with Alice and didn't know what to do. He had to give it another try with Gladys but it was unfair to Alice because he had just thrown away everything they had.

FP and Alice didn't speak for a few days and Alice avoided going out of the house because she didn't want to see Gladys and FP together. But eventually she had to go to the supermarket.

As she arrived, she saw Gladys going in before her and almost turned around to leave. But she didn't. This is my town Alice thought so she continued in. She walked straight past Gladys and didn't care if she saw her or not. Alice and Gladys caught up with each other in the snack isle and Alice heard Gladys was on the phone to someone.

"Hey baby, what do we need?" Gladys said and Alice immediately knew she was on the phone to FP. Alice swiftly left the isle and as soon as she did Gladys put her phone down. She was never on the phone to FP.

Alice quickly paid for what she had and left. She got back in the car and cried. She kept hitting her steering wheel when someone knocked on her window. She looked up to see Gladys.

"Open up." Gladys said but Alice just turned the ignition and drove away.

When Alice got home she saw FP at the door. She pulled into the garage and tried to ignore him.

"Can we talk?" FP said which made Alice jump because she thought he was still at the front door. "Sorry didn't mean to make you jump."

Alice didn't say anything back and proceeded to unpack the shopping. She left the door open and FP walked in.

"What the hell." Alice said "get out."

"No Alice."

"Why then? Why should I let you come in and talk to me and make me feel worthless again? Why should I let you ruin everything we had again?"

"You shouldn't let me."

"Right then leave." Alice said indicating the door.

"Ok but let me say this." Alice nodded so he continued, "I love you and only you." He started to leave when Alice grabbed his hand.

"Why didn't you say that before?" Alice asked.

"Because I needed you to hate me so I could give Gladys a chance, though she doesn't deserve one, but she's my wife and you're not."

"So? Hal was my husband and you weren't but you are still the love of my life." Alice blurted out. She took a few steps back realising what she said. "You and Gladys are happy though, I heard her on the phone to you." Alice said changing the subject.

"I haven't called Gladys this morning."

"Oh." Alice said.

"Alice, I'm always happy with you. I'm going to tell Gladys that it's over. Because you're right, you're the love of my life too."
