"Karlie, why are you watching the Cards? I thought their next game was on Sunday" Taylor asks upon finding her girlfriend watching a game on TV.

She looks up from her seat on the couch and replies, "Because I got asked to throw the first pitch out."

Taylor grins at the girl. "Oh that's so exciting! When is it?"

"Not for another month or so but I'm still hyped for it. So..."

"So you decided to watch America's most boring pastime to stay hyped?"

"Hey!"

"Sorry babe but you know it's true."

Taylor walks over to the couch before sitting down with her girl in her arms.

"You're watching the Cards with me right now?" Taylor didn't watch sports willingly, so Karlie was somewhat confused by this turn of events.

"I mean I always do. Don't I? I literally have their schedule saved on my phone just for you."

"You're saying that you watch all the games?"

"Yes because when I'm performing in Japan I have my sound technicians update me on scores. No you doofus, I only watch with you." Taylor rolls her eyes.

"Well you don't have to watch this one. It's just a replay..."

"Nah, I'll stay to watch."

"Why?" Karlie's bewilderment is apparent.

Taylor just shrugs and replies, "Because baseball is a metaphor, and metaphors are important."

Karlie raises an eyebrow in response. "A metaphor for what? For a new song?"

"The game of baseball is often used as a euphemistic metaphor," Taylor explains, causing Karlie's eyes to widen and a blush to spread across her cheeks—. "I simply wanted to make sure I had all my bases cover," she adds cheekily before turning her attention back to the game.

Karlie shakes her head as she sits down beside Taylor on the couch, trying to force the blush from her face. But before she even has a chance of doing that, her girlfriend's warm body shifts and presses against hers. Karlie can feel soulful blue eyes looking at her, so she turns her head to meet her girlfriend's smoldering gaze—causing her breath to catch in her throat.

"In fact," Taylor begins, a smirk playing at her lips as she moves to straddle Karlie's lap. She swallows thickly as her hands instinctively fall to Taylor's hips. "I wouldn't be opposed to exploring this metaphor more." She leans in then, brushing her lips against Karlie's ear and husks, "One base at a time."

Karlie shivers at the sensation of warm breath against her skin. Before she can even think of responding, Taylor's mouth is on hers. Her hands grip tightly onto slim hips as Taylor's tongue swipes against her lower lip, begging for entrance. Karlie slants her mouth against Taylor's as she parts her lips, allowing her to deepen their kiss.

Taylor buries her hands in blonde tresses as her tongue continues to move against Karlie's, and she melts at the contact—Taylor's kisses rendering her senseless. Taylor nips lightly at her lower lip, causing Karlie to gasp at the delicious mixture of pleasure and pain before returning Taylor's kiss with fervor.

Her breaths come out in sharp puffs through her nose against Taylor's cheek as she continues to sensually glide her tongue against Taylor's. Slender fingers play against the nape of her neck, and it takes all of Karlie's self control to keep it together. But that proves to be impossible—the teasing touch along her skin causes her to lose control. She lets out a soft groan as she draws her girlfriend's tongue into her mouth and sucks. Taylor moans into her mouth and tightens her hold on Karlie's hair.
