Chapter 3: The First Day

~3s POV~

I check my phone, its 10 in the morning, meaning I have 5 hours to help Tobias with shopping; as well as make breakfast, tell him the plan for today and also helping him practice with the weapon he chooses.

I head downstairs to the kitchen to make breakfast. "What do I make for breakfast? Waffles? Pancakes?" "Pancakes sound good!" I turn around to see Tobias, who had just waken up, stood in the doorway watching me. "Good morning Tobias! How was your sleep?" I started to make the pancakes as Tobias told me how he was doing. "It was great actually! Ive never slept so well!" "Great! Your gonna be ready for today then!" I headed to the table with the plates of pancakes and the maple syrup. We sat down and started to eat. I liked waffles more than pancakes, but it was great to see Tobias in a happy, exited mood.

"So what's the plan for today?" Tobias got up and headed to the kitchen. "Well, we are going to pick up some clothing and a weapon for you," I follow Tobias and put my plate on the side, "then I'll teach you the basics of using the weapon in training. Once we've completed that, we'll head to the arena, where we will meet my friends and play turf war." Tobais looked down and frowned, he seemed upset. "What's wrong?" "What if I make a fool of myself? What if I embarrass myself in front of your friends? What if I don't do well?" I had to reassure him to make sure that he knew everything would be ok. "Don't worry, none of that will happen! My friends are great, and they'll become your friends after today; they can help you win turf war battles, as well as give you tips on how to get better." He looked back up and smiled, "Well ok then! I'll try my best!" "That's the spirit! I'll go get ready now, I'll be back in 5 minutes!"

I ran upstairs, and got changed into my go to outfit. It was extremely comfortable, which meant I took no time at all. I grabbed my backpack and packed everything I needed: my phone, water bottle, keys, Custom Dualie Squeltchers, and my agent headset just incase if I was needed at headquarters half way through. I headed back down stairs and opened the front door. "You ready Tobias?" "I'm ready!" He had nothing on him since he had just escaped the underground the day before. "Well let's go then!"

~8s POV~

We walked out of the house and started heading to the square, where we would then navigate our way to the street with all the shops. It was about 10.30 am, Cora had the plan all set out, and was making sure that we were ready for the turf war before 3pm. It was a calm walk, not many people were out which meant we didnt have to rush to the stores, it also meant Cora didn't get embarrassed because of large crowds of fans. As we got to the square, we stopped a minute to admire everything. The sun was shining, flowers were blooming, it was all perfect. I almost got lost in my own thoughts, Cora had started walking again without me! I ran over and then started walking next to her again. "So how has your day been so far?" Cora looked at me and smiled, "it's going ok so far, I'm still getting used to seeing more inklings and octolings around." I replied and smiled back. After walking for a few minutes, we arrived at the shops and proceeded to buy everything I needed. I bought a pair of black trainers, a couple of short sleeved tshirts to go along with a navy blue hoodie, and a headset to go around my neck.

"You're almost ready! All that's left is your weapon," We walked down to Ammo Knights to buy my main weapon I would use. "Ah yes, one of my favourite customers, Cora! Or should I say agent 3!" I looked at Cora, she seemed furious, but she calmed down and replied to the owner. "Hey Sheldon, I'm looking for a weapon that my friend could buy. Tobias! Come say hi to Sheldon." I walked over to the counter and introduced myself. "Hi I'm Tobias and I'm looking for a gun I could to use for turf war." "Hello Tobias, I'm Sheldon, if you're looking for a gun, I have many that you can choose from," He pulled out several weapons and explained them all to me, but nothing stood out more than the Kensa Splatterscope. "I think I'll take this one," I picked it up and held it in my hands. "Great choice! That'll serve you greatly in battle, especially its sprinkler and baller!" I loved it! I didn't really know how to use it but Cora payed for it and took us into the practice area, where I would learn to use it and also use its special.

"There are 2 main ways of using the Splatterscope, charged and not charged, charged will increase the power of the shot and uncharged is the base shot. You can also use the scope for better accuracy; try it on the targets," Cora explained everything I needed to know about shooting with the Splatterscope to me, so I held it up, charged it and shot... Hit! I hit it and took it out with one shot, I see what she meant by the increase in power. I shot a few more times and got better at it every time. Next up was the sprinkler, which was easy to use; throw it to where you want it, and it will do the rest itself. Deploy and spray ink in its area. I changed into octo mode and refilled my ink tank, and then tried a few more times, trying to get it in different places each time. Lastly, she tought me about my special. "You will know when your special is ready, your tentacles start to glow, this is when you can deploy your special. For you it's your baller, for me its my ink rain since I use the Custom Dualie Squeltchers. So try it out now!" I inked the ground near me, and my special was ready! I deployed my baller and rolled around in it, after 20 seconds, it exploded and sent ink everywhere. "I think your ready!" Cora told me to get to my checkpoint, as we were going to battle! It was my first time so I was kinda bad, but I got better over the next few minutes battling Cora. She splatted me over and over, but after a while I got the perfect shot and charged up my Splatterscope. I shot her, splatting her and preventing her from using her special! I was extremely exited and went to go see her. "Your a natural!" Cora complemented me and told me I was getting better. After a few more matches, we said goodbye to Sheldon and headed to the Turf War Arenas.

"I forgot to give you this earlier!" Cora handed me a phone, it had everything I needed on it: Contacts, messaging, maps, games and so many other apps! "Thanks Cora!" "No problem," she smiled at me and looked back at her phone, "I'm on a group chat with my friends, once you've met them, I'll add you to it. Speaking of friends, it's 3pm, we'd better get a move on." So we headed to the meet up location where I would hopefully make friends, and play turf war with them.
