"And then the Roman emperor came and the Egyptians were defeated." Jack proclaimed dramatically, making me burst out laughing. He smiled at me playfully. "See? I told you I could remember everything what you told me about it." He nudged me lightly.
I laughed. "I didn't say you couldn't."
He looked me up and down, then stated. "I don't think you're failing history, Ems. You know everything about it, you didn't even look in the book once." It sounded admiringly.
I looked at my fingers, that were intertwined with his tattooed ones and answered. "History is the only subject where my marks haven't dropped that much. I still care about it, because I always loved it. And listening to stories of other people is interesting, it sets me free for a moment. Most of the people lost someone or something in their lives, so that's what makes it easier for me to listen to them."
Jack's brown eyes softened before he placed a soft kiss on my forehead. I smiled lightly afterwards. Jack then suggested. "We should really do something about maths. Both of us have Ds, nearly Es and that's not good."
That suggestion sort of pulled me back to reality. I didn't realize how bad it actually was until he mentioned it. I felt my mouth getting incredibly dry at the moment.
I said. "Jack, I don't think I'll be able to help you with this, because I don't pay attention in class." As soon as those words slipped out of my mouth, I felt ashamed of myself.
Jack gave me a encouraging smile when he said. "Well, neither do I, but we have to work it out. Come on, babe, we're smart, we can do it." He winked at me.
And that was it. The walls I had built all around myself suddenly fell down. I was sure that without Jack I wouldn't start studying again, but it was worth it. The determination came back.
Jack started reading the math book very closely. Me, however, was occupied with admiring the perfect boy who was lying on my bed right next to me on his stomach, his irresistible chocolate brown eyes flying over the pages, his curly hair, lighter shade of brown on the ends, tied up into a bun and the way his brows knitted together in deep concentration.
I caught myself staring at him with my mouth slightly parted, but I couldn't help myself, he was the definition of perfection in that moment. Well, always, but in that moment he just looked almost surreal, like a god with the end of a pencil in between his teeth.
I jumped up a bit when I heard his voice, saturated with smile. "Like what you see, babe?" He turned to me with a mischievous smile playing on his lips. Normally, I would look down, blush and deny it all, however, Jack made me feel so comfortable that I looked him right in the eye and smiled provocatively while saying.
"I do, actually." His eyes widened; I could say he didn't expect me to say it out loud. A proud grin made its way on my lips when I saw his reaction. Seconds later he whispered.
"You little tease, you're trying to distract me." His eyes were full of sparkles when he continued. "You know I can't concentrate when you bite your lip like you do, right?" He whispered huskily, his eyes even darker than before.
My heart started to beat faster and my whole body filled with excitement. Before I could analyze it, his lips brushed over mine.
I pulled him closer, our kisses becoming more heated and deeper. I tugged at his hair and his lips escaped a soft moan after my actions. I felt Jack's hands on my hips seconds before he broke the kiss breathlessly. He smiled at me like he was dreaming. "Wow. Slow down, Emmie. Your parents are in the house." He said with his eyes wide open when he realized.
That was when I remembered my parents too. I blushed and said. "I'm sorry."
Jack's soft fingertips lifted my jaw softly when he said, deadly serious. "Never be sorry for doing what you want. I'm all yours. Don't ever be sorry for this, never again. Got it?" He asked, looking me in the eye. I nodded. "Okay."
