((WARNING: this chapter gets a bit spicy, mild sexual content ahead!!! And to answer, Kit is 17, and Blink is 18! I think in the movie, Jack is 17 so I imagine that Blink is the same age and since this takes place one year after the movie. I'll have a warning before the scene if you want to skip it. Anyways, Enjoy! Please vote and comment! ))
Kit was leaning back on Blink, his legs and arm engulfed around her as the two sat in the corner of the newsies bunkroom. The two of them were alone in their own world as the rest of the newsies continued their drunk antics. The excitement from their successful bets was still palpable in the air.
Kit's head was spinning from Blink's touch. Or the alcohol. She couldn't tell.
"I- uh. I think I need some air." Kit said. She was suddenly feeling very, very warm and crowded in the noisy bunkroom.
"Okay. Let's go to dah roof." Blink suggested.
Kit nodded. He sat up and helped her get on her feet. He took her hand and led her away
Blink wasn't drunk anymore, but he still felt a bit of liquid courage in him.
The couple walked out of the bunkroom and headed to the roof. The fresh air and soft breeze did wonders to clear Kit's head. Blink led her to the raised platform to sit with him. The stars twinkled in the clear night sky. She lost track of time, but it must have been close to midnight.
"How are ya feelin'?" Kit asked him, she leaned her head on his shoulder.
"I'm good now. T'anks fo' gettin' me watah." He hadn't drank any more since Kit got back to the lodging house, so his head had cleared greatly.
He felt slight embarrassment for how messy he was acting earlier. But it was worth it since it landed him spending time with Kit doting on him through the night and he felt no inhibition for holding her close. Just playing with her hair or running his fingers down her back made him feel unbelievably happy.
"Yeah, of course. Anything for ya, sweet cheeks." she replied. Blink laughed.
"Who'se you callin' sweet cheeks?"
"You. You little cutie pie." Kit went to squeeze his cheeks. Blink laughed
"An' how are you'se feelin', love?" he asked, taking on her hands off his cheek into his hands.
"I'm good. Da fresh air is doin' wondahs." She took an exaggerated inhale.
"Still drunk as a skunk?" Blink questioned.
She giggled. "No, not too drunk. You'se know, drunk enough ta be havin' fun, but not drunk enough tah make any bad decisions."
Which was true. She felt the alcohol in her head, but she wasn't plastered. She felt confident in her decision making abilities and wasn't afraid of being more bold in her actions.
"Das good. How come you'se got back so late?" Blink missed her at the boxing match earlier and was hoping to see her right when they got back to the lodging house.
Kit froze, suddenly remembering how she saw a portal earlier that day in Central Park. She mentally shook it out of her head. She didn't want to deal with that right now. She just wanted to enjoy the night and enjoy her time with Blink. The alcohol briefly made her feel normal with the other newsies and it prevented her from thinking about anything serious in her life besides having a good time.
"I'se just got caught up. I'se saw David an' we'se ended up talkin' fo' a while." She wasn't lying, exactly. Just stretching the truth.
"Oh." Blink looked deep in thought, curious as to when her and David got so close.
