a cancer patient gets done with her treatment. months after, she passes out and gets sent back. the cancer has come back. but there's a new doctor tending to her.
ale : i need to tell you something. me : what is it? ale : so, you know how i said mack cheated on me? me : yeah. ale : and i said you know who he is? me : yes... ale : well that's because it was kairi. me : what?! ale : i didn't want to tell you because i didn't want to hurt your feelings. but i knew you'd be even more hurt if i didn't tell you. me : this is joke, right? ale : i'm sorry, no. i didn't want everyone out there to bring up drama so that's why i didn't say who. me : this can't be happening.
i start breathing heavy then i start crying. ale hugs me and just holds me there.
ale : i'm so sorry.
i look over and see the boys walk in the kitchen to get lunch.
kai : liz just left.
i don't pay attention to anyone except kairi who's now staring directly at us.
kai : are you okay?
i don't say anything and i just look at ale. i look back over at kai and give him a fake smile then kiss ale.
he stands there in shock for a second then kisses back.
tia and brady : oh shit. kai : WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR? me : YOU KNOW WHAT YOU FUCKING DID.
i start to run upstairs to our room and kai runs after me.
kai : I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, JAQUELYN.
i slam the door and lock it. kai starts banging on the door.

i lay on my bed and stuff my face in my pillow and cry until i fall asleep.
i wake up later around 4 and i sit up. i check my phone and see multiple texts from kai, ale, tia, and brady.
kai pls baby kai let me talk to you kai jackie
ale come downstairs ale or at least let me in ale jackie
tia he was wrong for that tia i agree tia but just talk it out with him tia jackie
brady hey bestie brady you need a hug? brady jackie?
i put my phone down and go to the bathroom. i wipe off my smeared makeup and i change into some sweatpants with just my sports bra.
i lay down on my bed and get on my phone. i hear a knock on my door.
me : go away kairi. ale : it's not kairi. it's alejandro. me : okay, one second.
i climb out of bed and open the door and let him in. i shut it behind us and lock it again so kai can't get in.
we sit on the bed. alejandro just stares at me.
me : oh shit.
he laughs and i run and grab a sweatshirt from my closet, making sure not to grab one of kairi's.
ale : why'd you kiss me? like i'm not complaining but...why? me : i wanted kai to know how it feels. ale : i'm sorry about him. me : oh don't be. hold on.
i open the bedroom door and see kai on the phone down the hallway. he's smiling and laughing. he sees me.
kai : oh shit. mckenzie i have to go real quick. i'll call you back.
he hangs up and i shut the door, but don't lock it. purposely so he can get in.
