Chapter 21

     Time skip several weeks after fully recovered.

    Growling, I was sitting on Dereck's shoulder as I waited for the briefing of the hunt for the hive, or so I am told. I watched as one walked forwards with an arrogant air and a crap ton of medals on his chest walk in. Very late. If there is one thing I hated in the world is people who are late. I snarled as he looked at me and snorted as Dereck snickered, waiting for me to strike. The Arrogant donkey spoke," Control your pet, Handler." I snarled, disappearing with speeds far higher than it used to be as I landed onCommander'sder's shoulder as I held a talon to his throat as Dereck spoke," That was strike two just saying. Strike one. You were late. He hates it when someone is more than ten minutes late. Strike two. You called him a pet, which is why he now has a talon glowing slightly with hellfire next to your Carotid Artery. Strike three well. He will make this meeting living hell for you. Also, Dylan come." I snarled, directing my mind voice at him, "Fine, but next time I will hurt him, badly." Dereck did an excellent job masking his emotions as I flew over to him as Ivan, who was standing next to him, spoke," Sorry for speaking out of turn, sir, but that was his slower speed. It was his fastest speed before he got injured protecting the city."

 Commander snorted," Sure that little lizard did, but can you tell me what level his power reached." I was ready to strike as Dereck held his hand up, signaling me to wait as I cursed as Dereck spoke," Low to Mid Hunter level. Sir honestly, as small as he is, he could destroy this whole city if it wasn't for his bond with Dereck. Before he was injured, that was his power. Currently, if he used the Nightmare Curse now, High Hunter ranked to Low Royalty rank. Without it easily Mid Vanguard to High Vanguard ranked." I looked at Dereck," Did Ivan say something intelligent for the first time since I have met him."  I could tell Dereck was trying not to laugh due to the veins on his neck bulge up slightly from the bite back of air as he exhaled as the Commander glared at me and spoke skeptically," Sure I don't believe that for a second. That little lizard cou-."

Before he could finish, I had appeared in front of him, slamming my tail hard across his face while in midair sending him into the ground with the ground cracking as Dereck finally laughed," That was strike three, we warned you, and he isn't done yet." I flexed my tail as the light in the sealing glinted off my tail spike. Commander finally looked up cross-eyed as I lashed my tail as Dereck sighed," Come here, Dylan, stop trying to kill him." I hissed but not before slashing my tail, scratching his cheek with my tail. Jumping into the air, I landed on Dereck's shoulder for the second time in a few minutes. Commander stood up as Dereck spoke," How about we start the meeting. Before Dylan here actually decides to incinerate you to ashes." I glared at him, "I wouldn't incinerate him just burn him...badly." 

  Dereck shakes his head in exasperation as the Commander stood up, trying to look dignified as I had a happy glint in my eyes as he spoke," From our scouts, we have pinpointed that the hive is in sector C5 to C8 due to the dramatic increase of Dradvians in that area. We have also found tunnels in B2-A4 that reach the walls. We have already sent drones into the tunnels " I flicked my tail in annoyance as I hissed," Like we didn't already know that. After all, we collected the information. Arrogant donkey much." Dereck chuckled as I hissed flicking my tail asCommander looked at me as I jumped off from Dereck's shoulder and flew overhead circling the map as I noticed something for their positions. Landing on the digital map as the commander 'commanded' me to get off. I glared at him as I pointed my tail at several key positions as he snorted," We don't need to reinforce anything." Growling I released hellfire down my spine as he gulped as I manipulated the flames into small arrows as I held them all aimed at his throat as I hissed as the heat from the fire started to scorch his skin as I stopped myself as the door opened up with several members of the council of elders walking in as one of them sighed," Dylan go to Dereck." I snorted as I dispelled the hellfire quickly. Before returning to Dereck's side as the second elder that was I was familiar with spoke," I see you got on Dylan's bad side. Count yourself lucky he didn't go for your vitals. His eyes can see them very easily. What you saw was him hardly even trying and like dear Dereck said Three strikes and you are either dead or injured. Well, then continue the meeting." I noticed a gleam in one of the elders' eyes as he spoke," Wait, what do his eyes do precisely I would like to know?" Dereck spoke," Able to see organs and see the muscles move and tense enabling him to dodge any kind of attack from living things which is why he is so successful in killing lower-ranked to Mid ranked dradvians. That is all I will say though." I looked at Dereck,"You do realize that he seems to be plotting something right." He nodded his head just enough to inform me he already knows. The elder spoke," I want to know everything he can do." I hissed at him,' You will find out if you keep this up you old sack of stupid bones.' Flicking my tail sharp crystals came out of nowhere as I made sure to miss any vitals. The crystals turned into long thing needles as they flew at the elder hitting him in pressure points knocking him out and paralyzing him effectively. Dereck, Ivan, Shawn, and the usual elder laughed. I stopped them laughing by giving a glare as I hissed sharpening my talons as I disappeared as Ivan immediately bolted followed by Shawn. Flying after them I ended up shredding their arms and legs as I smashed both their faces into the ground as I hissed at them before returning to Dereck's shoulder.

  The Commander looked at me nervously after seeing the less than normal injuries I gave Shawn and Ivan. I hissed glaring at him as Dereck spoke," Well since the meeting is over lets call it a day and get ready for scouting tomorrow.
