Chapter 19

Over the past few months both Dereck and I have grown closer to the point we are going on patrols in ships and currently I was sitting on his shoulder as I growled lashing my tail in annoyance as Shawn and another guard. I don't remember his name looked nervous as flickers of hellfire could be seen along the ridge of my back. My sharp eyes scanned the rooms as I hissed softly alerting Dereck that I sensed a Dradvian just the thought of those scum suckers made me annoyed. Spotting a glimpse of movement as I narrowed my eyes in the corner as I lashed my tail before Dereck spoke,"Easy. Shawn, Dax check around the room and be careful cause he really wants to have at it."  Shawn and Dax crept along the walls as my sensitive nose picked up several other presences. I growled with flames appearing along my body as a slight wind  picked up with my vision grew even sharper as Derrick sucked in a breath as I disappeared in a flash of speed as my talon found its way into the Dradvian's gut as I thought my talon had punctured the dradvian's stomach. I willed the marks along my body to start glowing as hellfire surrounded the dradvian and me as the flames ravaged the area as the dradvian hissed as my eyes widened seeing my talon barely drawing blood. I hissed as I flew back as the hellfire's temperature grew even hotter as the metal of the ship melted as Dereck and the others looked at the energy I was releasing in surprise as the Dradvian snarled in pain and fury as I used my eyes to Harden my scales and sharpen my claws and tail. The Dradvian began to dig into my hardened scales as I jumped back watching the muscle movements carefully as I heard movement from behind me as I glanced back slightly at Dereck. A big mistake the Dradvian's claw came towards my eye as I ducked and rolled as the things claws sparked off my scales.

   Moving quickly and aiming to end the fight I formed small crystals thin and sharp along my tail as I flicked it as the sharp crystal needles hit the pressure points along the dradvian's body. The Dradvian fell dead as Dereck whispered," Geez his power has increased times two  from the measurements a few months ago." Shawn walked over to see," Wow that is more than twice his power but what about this Dradvian also what in the world is that mark that spread along his body." I hissed itching to kill it as Dereck whistled to me as I glared at the temporary paralyzed Dradvian as I flew and landed perfectly on his shoulder as the black marks retreated from my body before swirling along my neck as Shawn walked over to the Dradvian before clipping chains as I growled softly,'So it is a higher ranked must be a vanguard or even...no I doubt it would be a hunter ranked. Also where in the world did Shawn get chains for them. Conniving Scum sucking flea bag.' I hissed as Shawn placed the Dradvian in a small cage as I growled before we continued the patrol of the ship. I sighed,' Finally we are done.' I stole a glance at the annoying little scum sucker. Not Shawn even do he is a Scum sucker. I closed my eyes as I tensed as I looked up as I saw a giant transport ship falling from the sky as I growled a warning as I jumped off Dereck as he yelled," Get back here." Taking a deep breath I released a concentrated blast of flames at the ship as I released the markings again knowing it could very well kill me. Hellfire blazed from me as I added more force into the flames from my mouth as the entire ship exploded with darkness already in my vision as shrapnel rained down as sharp pieces hit me as I hissed in pain before falling unconscious. 

    Weakly I opened my eyes as Dereck spoke with distress clear in his voice and it took me back completely," Your alright! Don't try to move you just finished surgery... I am not... I cant even say the damage just thankfully your alive." I tried to hiss as a doctor came in," He is awake what a relief. Keep him immobile their is no permanent damage and this time from the looks of the injuries he received he won't be able to even heal from the sun. That strange black marking is...interesting. Even when he was unconscious I took a power level reading and it was insane plus his eyes were a different color a blackish purple kinda. Anyways like I was saying you already know the severity of the things injuries." I tried to glare at him but bolts of pains ran through my body as Dereck picked me up before placing me in a glass cage with a pillow of velvet on the bottom as I hissed in slight annoyance as I fell asleep.

    Opening my eyes I didn't feel as much pain as I groaned still on. the pillow as I noticed Shawn, Ivan, and the other guard Dax, and an elder and by the looks of it a council member. I noticed Dereck walking in noticing I was awake before he gently picked me up as I hissed softly but he knew I wouldn't do anything in my condition. Plus he was kinda growing on me. Ivan looked at me and spoke," Don't get me wrong I am happy he is alive but why do I have a feeling that he still wants to stab us." He gestured towards all of them as Dax nodded," Your have a point Shawn. His aura is different to say the least it has been for several weeks at least." The elder nodded," Since he literally saved the city from the failed ship. He ended up killing Dradvians that had killed all the crew members. If they landed many of our people would have died if not for his bravery what did you say his power rivaled again." I noticed Ivan and Dax exchange glances and I had a feeling that Dereck had the same face. I hissed again as Dereck as I could feel his gaze look at me before saying," His energy while in the ship rivaled that of a high vanguard ranked Dradvian to low hunter. While shooting fire at the ship last week his energy levels surpassed low hunter and crept up to mid hunter ranked." I hissed softly,' Thats the first stage you felt of the Nightmare curse I somehow activated a few weeks ago.' I concluded that the second or third stage from what my memories told me just how powerful it was. Dereck lifted me up before placing me down on the pillow as I fell asleep.

A/N finally dont have writers block so yeah about 1200 words not bad for this story. Chapter 20 may be out in a few days depending when I start on it."
