AYA's POV🧡
On Monday we just attended our classes.
Yesterday I also checked my grades, and I was glad that I still maintained my grades, so a while ago I did not feel surprised anymore to be on top of the dean's list.
Yes, that's one of the reasons why I prioritize my academics and studies, and through that I will also be able to get my scholarship.
My parents were very happy when I got this scholarship because it lessened all of my expenses as a college student, and that's why I was able to save up my allowance and buy the things that I wanted for myself, like shoes, clothes, and other things.
"Oh my goodness, I didn't expect that I'd get good grades, but not just good grades, but it was quite high," Kyla said.
"Big thanks to the Aya library and group study thing," Kate said.
Yeah, that's AYA's effect. Chloe
"Oh come on girls, It's not me, it's all your own doing, girls. I just helped you, but the rest is all your doing. "I said
"Yah yah, but it's still we owe a lot to you," Kyla said.
After that, I didn't go to the library that day because I needed to see the mother of an old friend.
We met at our favorite restaurant, named Magkakaibigan, and nagusap lang kami about something. We ate dinner, and after that, I went back to our dorm.
On Tuesday we had our P.E class in the morning, and we played volleyball. At first, my black mates and prof seemed shocked because they noticed that I was actually good at it. That's why I got uncomfortable during that time.
When we're done in our P.E class, me and Kate got to change attire in the lady's bathrooms. While changing, she asked me about it.
"I had no idea you had a special talent in volleyball, huh," she remarked.
"Hmm, maybe I just applied for what I watch on some sports shows." I lied.
"Oh, I didn't realize you watched some athletic show," she remarked.
I lied again, despite the fact that I was a varsity girl on a volleyball team during my junior year of high school.
After changing our attire, we just went to the cafeteria first to buy a water bottle before we got back to our class.
On the whole, we had our class, and after our class, I also got time to study at the library.
The next day, we also had our morning classes while the afternoon was our free time, but since the varsity team of the school also had a game, my friend got to watch it.
While I was about to go back to our dorm, Kylien encouraged me to join their organization. It was the most popular organization here at the school because it's priorities were the academic and educational activities of the school. That's why I also got to join their organization. She just informed me of their routine and our meetings were every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after class. That's why I still have 2 days to spend inside the library studying.
While I was about to walk out towards the school, I suddenly noticed someone inside the parking lot. I saw a guy leaning in his gray BMW car.
When he noticed me, he immediately walked my way. While he was walking towards my direction, I was taking a step back before he got closer and I realized who he was. It was him. It's Lance Adrielle Quevas, my childhood friend.
He immediately hugged me when he got into my spot.
I'm sorry, I just missed you so much. He apologizes after breaking the hug.
"Uhm, it's okay, I was just speechless seeing you right now and I thought next month pa ang uwi mo." I said.
"Yeah, but my mom rescheduled it since our first semester ended already," he said.
"I see," I said.
"Uhmm, it's getting late. Come with me and I'll drive you home," he offered. I was about to reject his offer since it was just a walking distance, but he had already walked away and led me to his car, so I didn't have a choice anymore. He also opened the door for me to enter the shotgun seat before he went inside.
Ah, so how are you? I heard from my mom that you're doing well here in Manila, huh? "he said
"Uhm, yes I think so. How about you? How's your New York life?" I ask him.
"Well, it's fine too, but you know, I think I still long for something," he said. The small conversation stops when we arrive outside our dorm. Like he used to be a gentleman, he immediately went outside his car and opened the door before I went out.
"Uhm, thank you for the ride," I said.
"You're always welcome at sea." He said, and I was shocked because, ngayon ko lang, ulit na may tumawag sakin sa nickname kung yun, and aside from his, he was the only one who called me by that name.
"Uhm, so I'll go inside. Thanks again and drive safely," I said. But when I was about to leave, he suddenly spoke again.
"Are you busy on Saturday?" he asked me.
"I don't have any plans." I answered and asked him
"Maybe we can meet again somewhere, you know, just catch up if you want," he said.
"Yeah, sure," I replied, and I gave him a small smile before going inside.
When I entered the dorm, I saw my friend sitting in the living room. They also asked me before I passed them.
You're late. Where did you go? We were texting and calling you the whole time, but your phone was off. "Kate scolded me like she was my mother."
"Uhm, I just met someone outside the school," I explained.
"So you still didn't want to say who's that person?" she said
"Maybe next time," I said before passing them. It's made me a little uncomfortable every time people interrogate me just to find out what I did. Although I know Kate's intentions were good, I'm not really good at sharing my private activities.
I just rested for a while before taking a shower, and I ate dinner before going to bed to sleep.
The day had passed and it was already Friday night, and we were sitting in the living room watching TV shows when my phone beeped and one message popped out, which I immediately read.
"Uhm, I'll just remind you about tomorrow." He texted me. I was about to reply to him, but he messaged me again.
"I'm going to pick you up." He texted me again.
I just replied to him, "okay."
"So that's the reason why you're not joining us again tomorrow," Kate said while sneaking at my phone.
"Uhm, probably yes, just for an important matter," I said.
"Okay, good luck," Kate said with an irritation.
The next day, like what Lance texted, he picked me up and we went to a luxury restaurant to catch up and also eat. Then, after that, he sent me back to our dorm. When I arrived at our dorm, my friends were not still around, so I just spent my time reading for our next lesson before I went to sleep.
On Sunday, we had another opportunity to attend a mass near the location with my friends. Kate and I were fine, but I know she's a little mad at me for not joining them for the fourth time and for not telling her my activities.
