What Just Happened!?

We soon left the rink and I began to feel sadness creeping in, I didn't want the day to end, plus it was still early in the day, it wasn't even late.
We walked past a few cute small shops, I stopped at one looking through the window causing Amajiki to stop and look too.

"Do you want to go in?" he asked.
I nodded, I desperately wanted to go shopping in Japan but I felt too nervous on my own in case my Japanese wasn't good enough.
I looked around coming across the jewellery section, everything looked so sweet and delicate.
"I've never seen such delicate jewellery before" I stared into the glass case.
My eyes caught on to a rose gold necklace with tiny sakura flowers and a small heart, the heart had a small lace cutout detail to it.

"I-it's pretty" Amajiki spoke noticing the necklace too.
"oh!? Maybe we could come back and find Christmas gifts for our friends soon?" I suggested, truthfully I just really loved shopping.
He nodded as I walked away from the necklace "not that though, it's a bit out of my budget" I giggled.
"I-I'm glad I can go with you, I never know what to get Nejire, will y-you help?" he asked looking a little shy.
I nodded happily "I'd love to! I love buying gifts... We could also look for kimis too?" my voice faded as I remembered her.
"o-oh yeah, I wonder what she'd like?" he blushed as we left the shop.

We were walking back to the station as I noticed someone familiar ahead looking at us... Kimi?
I looked up at Amajiki who hadn't seemed to have noticed, he seemed a little zoned out.
Kimi quickly ran up to him and hugged him tightly "w-what... Oh, kimi, how come you're here?" he asked as I felt my heart drop seeing her hug him.
"oh, well, I'm just shopping! How come you're with my boyfriend?" Kimi turned to me with a fake smile plastered over her face.
"w-we erm went skating" I blushed.
"oh could have invited me" she continued to smile but it was obvious she was annoyed.
"k-kimi, it was my fault, sorry" Amajiki sighed a little scratching the back of his head.
"it's fine! Could we hang out now then?" she asked.
I felt awkward, should I leave?
"erm" Amajiki looked towards me.
I knew where the station was so it wasn't like I didn't know how to get back to the dorms.
"I-it's fine, I'll go back now, my muscles kinda ache" I lied, I could see amajiki wouldn't ask me to leave but kimi clearly wanted me to.
"m-mine ache too" Amajiki quickly replied, I felt so confused, was skating really that tiring for him? He was so much stronger than I was usually.
"aw! Come one Amajiki let's go eat then we can go back and I can give you a massage" Kimi smirked placing her hands on his shoulders.
I clenched my jaw, I needed to leave otherwise she'd make this day go from amazing to awful.

"I-I'm gonna get going then... H-have fun" I stuttered before turning away from them about to walk to the station until Amajiki stopped me.
"wait, are you s-sure? Here's your bag by the way" he passed me my bag, I blushed embarrassed I had forgotten he was still carrying it.
"t-thank you, i'll be fine" I blushed before turning around starting to walk away feeling a little heartbroken, the day was going so well too.

I turned my face a little to see them both walk off in the opposite direction.
I sighed and noticed Amajiki turn his head back and notice I was looking back at him.
I quickly turned around, red in the cheeks now feeling embarrassed, walking quicker away.

Suddenly I saw a bright light and heat reach me before I was swiftly lifted off my feet.
My eyes were closed but I opened them to look down at the ground I was just walking on now being filled with hot flames, my eyes widened, what the hell just happened!?
And how did I get up here, where is here? I'm floating? Also... I'm terrified of heights!!!
I turned my head upwards quickly to see Amajiki floating upwards holding onto me tightly in his arms with big white fluffy wings sprouting out of his back.
His eyes were full of worry, his hands were placed on my legs and lower back gripping tightly, what was going on?
My heart was racing from anxiety and overthinking, my breathing was becoming heavier, so much was happening right now!? I started to struggle in his grip "w-what happened!? Are you OK??.. Ah, I'm scared of heights!!" I squeaked as I clung harder onto his chest wrapping my arms and legs around him feeling terrified.
His cheeks lit up as I grabbed him "s-sorry, just focus on me!" he pulled my face to face him and not the ground as he flew higher.

As soon as I looked into his eyes I felt my heart skipping, I mean it worked a little but I realised I was clinging to him in fear and started to feel bad.
"I-I'm glad I had those chicken wings now" he muttered spreading his wings out fully flying towards a nearby skyscraper roof as I hid my face into his chest trying not to look down.
"I-I'm sorry" I whimpered pulling him closer until we landed softly.
I wobbled as my feet met the ground again and I fell to my knees letting out a breath shaking.

"you're scared of heights?" he asked looking red in the face.
I nodded embarrassed, I felt so stupid being scared of heights when I wanted to become a hero.
"What happened??... And where's Kimi?" I asked standing up again.
His eyes widened "wait... What, where is she??".
