Nasa kalagitnaan kami ng meeting ngayon para sa gagawin kong Career talk. Halos dalawang linggo nalang ang natitira para sa preparation namin. Grabe magde-December na! Matatapos na naman ang taon na ‘to. At hindi ko nadin namalayan na naka isa’t kalahating buwan na pala ako dito sa company.
“First of, make an outline of the scope of our work here in recruitment, then highlight Flare’s accomplishments, stability, and expansion. You can also talk about employee relations here. And lastly, talk about your personal experience, give your own advice to the students.” Nicholas said while I’m listening carefully to him. Hindi na ako nagtake ng notes dahil naka-record naman sa phone ko.
Hay iniisip ko palang pakiramdam ko hihimatayin na ako. Parang napakadali lang ng sinabi niya pero hindi ko talaga alam paano sisimulan ‘yan. And talk about my personal experience? Ano namang sasabihin ko? Na late ako ng first day ko? At napaka-welcoming ng employee nila? (hindi ko sinasabing si Apple ‘yon ha. HAHA!) And what advise should I give to them? Hey students be like me! Overthinker, pessimistic, and uncooperative! Haysss.
“I’ll help you with the outline Thea, give me your ideas and then I’ll help you organize it.” I nodded.
“What about you James? What can you contribute here?” Yes, Pao is here. Dalawa lang kaming sinama sa meeting ni boss dahil kami lang naman ang pupunta sa university.
“Uhmm… I think I’ll help her with the PowerPoint presentation.”
“Okay that’s great. Thea, talk to Apple and let her know of the things she’ll cover for you.”
“Noted Sir.”
“So… I think that’s it for today. We’ll meet again next week and try to rehearse your talk. Thank you for your time!”
Shit what?! May rehearsal pa?!
“Thank you, Sir!” tumayo na si Pao habang ako nakaupo padin at hindi makagalaw dahil sa gulat na may rehearsal pa.
“Pearl?” baling sakin ni Pao.
Napatingin din sakin si Nicholas dahil napansin niya ding nakaupo padin ako. Pakiramdam ko din namumutla ako ngayon dahil sa pag-aalala at sa kaba.
“Hey Thea… don’t worry too much. It’s just me and James who will listen to your rehearsal.” And then smiled at me. Medyo gumaan ang pakiramdam ko sa sinabi niya, so I smiled back and then stood up.
“T-thank you, Sir.”
Lumabas na kami ni Pao at naglakad na pabalik sa pod. Habang naglalakad, napansin ko siyang tahimik at tila may iniisip.
“Huy?” siniko ko siya.
“Pearl naalala mo ba yung sinabi ko sayong parang may something kay boss?” sabi niya habang may iniisip padin.
“Oo?”
“I think I figured it out. Pero tsaka ko na sasabihin sayo.”
“Hmmm… Okay?”
Nasa loob na kami ng pod at wala na doon si Apple. Kinuha lang namin ang mga wallet namin at lumabas nadin at sumunod kila Apple para mag-lunch.
“How’s your meeting with boss?” Tanong ni Apple habang kumakain at kami naman ay naghihintay ng order namin.
“Ayun okay lang! As usual, sinabi niya lang mga dapat gawin.” Sagot ni Pao.
“Hahahahaha! As if you’re still expecting he’ll ask your opinion?!” sarkastikong sabi ni Apple
“Tama!!”
Problema ng mga ‘to kay Nicholas? I know Apple is bitter dahil hindi siya napili magcareer talk, but Pao? What’s with him?
