CHAPTER THIRTEEN

I stand transfixed on the same place, my hands covering my mouth in case I make another sound .

But I guess I am too late because I see him swim towards the shore, his heads shooting up to look around for the source of the scream.

I don't want him to see me so I do the only thing that seems sensible enough....I run, I run so fast to the very spot I left my clothes and my bike.
I don't know how but I end up wearing my clothes in a minute and putting on my helmet.

When I look up, he is running towards me.
I start my bike and reverse it so fast but he is not giving up. He starts to chase me, he is so fast that I think he will catch up with me. I didn't notice how well built he was not to mention how fit he was .
Seems like he visited the gym quite often .

"Stop where you are and let's talk. I am willing to pay any price you want so long as you don't open your mouth. Whoever you are just stop!"
He shouted as he continued chasing me but I didn't stop .

I rode on faster than before turning at every bend and making slight corners until I lost him.

"That was so close.." I said to myself before sighing.

I wanted to go through the tunnel again but I did want to open the movable wall in my room and come across a worried Elena .

I opened the tunnel and gently rode my bike in before coming down and locking the opening .

I jogged to my mansion and opened it.
It was still very early so Elena was still asleep .

This had me tip toeing upstairs to avoid any noise that would wake her up and her unnecessary questions
Opening my bedroom door slowly, I got in and closed the door as quietly as I could before releasing my breath.

But when I turned around to make my way to bed, I wasn't surprised to find her seated on my bed with an unreadable expression on her face.

"What are you doing in my bedroom Elena?" I asked annoyed

"Where are you coming from Daniella ?" She asked back

"From when did I have to report to you every place that I go Elena?" I fired back

"From the very day you let me live with you Ella ." She stated matter of factly

"Look Elena , you don't have to worry about me . I can take care of myself."

"You know if anything happens to you I will be the one to get blamed !" She shouted out of nowhere
"And you know what they will say? They will say that I killed you so that I could have your money! So if you really want me to be at peace with myself , tell me where you are going even if whatever you are going to do there becomes your secret ," she said so sincerely with a lot of emotions running through her eyes but she refused to cry even though I could see how much she wanted to.

"I told you I can take care of myself Elena, you don't have to worry about me or about what is bothering you, okay. I have had a long night so please let me sleep for the remaining one hour or so because I have school and work please ." I said as politely as I could because I was beginning to doubt her .

"Okay. You know what? Fuck you!" She said and exited without waiting for my reply which was me rolling my eyes.

Setting my alarm for the next two hours, I drifted off to sleep.

The alarm clock buzzing was becoming a nuisance to my precious sleep.
I turned around to stop it but I changed my mind and woke up annoyed .

I really needed to stop these late night errands or else I would always be annoyed when it came to waking up.

I decided to go to school first before going to the factory because there is no important work I was going to do there.

Elena had already left without making me coffee and without using our car.

I hope she comes around soon because I can't imagine staying in the same house and not talking to each other
I thought to myself as I got ready to go to school .

The drive was boring without Elena but I had no other choice.

And the first person I saw was Stevie , waiting for me in the driveway.
She walked towards my car when I parked and stood outside waiting impatiently

"I'm not in the mood to fight please just let me be okay?" I told her wishing she could understand that but it seems she had her own plans.

"I warned you to stay away from my Danny you witch!" She whispered harshly

"Just tell him to stay away from me, he is not my type whatsoever and it's obvious he doesn't like you. Why are you being so territorial over someone who doesn't care?" I asked

"It's a long story Daniella " she sighed , her shoulders sagging and for the first time I realized that she had dark circles under her eyes.

"Can we talk about it? I can help."

"Can you give me your number so I can call you because I don't want anybody to see me talk to you." She said looking around for any person

"Okay, here is my card call me when you are ready ." I said to which she just nodded and left.

As I walked from the parking lot,my mind was coming up with different ideas on what was going on with Stevie before I bumped into a nervous Travis .

"I need to tell you something," he said

"What ?"

"Somebody just found out my deepest secret but I don't know who it is. I'm afraid it's going to bring me trouble."

"What is the secret ?" I asked feigning innocence

"It's called a secret for a reason. I can't tell you."

"Well it's such a shocker that I'm the person you are looking for.."
He stared at me for a long minute before pushing me to the wall

"What!"

"And I have a video. So you and your father will dance to my tune.."
I said before pushing him and walking away.
