CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

"Oh my God! She will find us !" Stevie exclaimed shaking so much I feared she would fall down.

"And how the hell did you get in here without her notice ?" She continued

"This is my house remember  ?" I answered back trying to come up with a plan.
I couldn't take her through the tunnel because I still didn't trust her fully

"You need to leave. She is after you and once she catches you I swear you will be dead meat."

"Could you just shut up for a minute Stevie ? I'm trying to think here !"

And then an idea clicked
"Go and sit back on that chair the same way I found you !" I said pushing her on the chair

"What? Why?"

She was really getting on my nerves but I just let my comment slide.

Without asking more, she sat down her hands behind her back and her face facing down.

I went behind the door with a steel rod elenaust have forgotten and silently waited.
If she was alone then my plan would be effective but if her companions were around then I don't know what would happen next.

Just on time the door flew open but it shielded me from her view.

"Stevie your stupid counterpart is not responding to my texts. Do you know why?" She asked bored.

Stevie made no effort to talk back making Elena walk inside and when her back was on me, I brought the rod down on her head...hard.

She staggered for a few minutes before I brought it down again and watched her stumble to the ground .

Stevie stood up from her chair landing a hit slap oh her cheek.

"Ella,she is way stronger than this if we stay here a minute longer, she will recover !"

Seems like I felt like hitting someone tonight so I brought the rod on her head again
"Why so?" I asked

"You won't believe me if I told you,"  she answered back

"Try me."

"I'll tell you once we are out of here !"

"Okay !"

I held Elena by the neck and to my utter surprise, she held my hands looking unaffected and threw me to the other side of the wall without much effort

"The both of you can't win. Stevie you can't betray me and get to see another day. It's so sad that you will die with her tonight !"

She came at me again , this time looking at me in the eyes
"You are a smart one Ella. I tried to get the truth about you but you wouldn't talk ."

"I helped you. I trusted you Elena.."

"And that's the problem with nice people. They always end up dead because of their kindness and you are about to. God! I've waited a hundred years to become the most powerful creature in the realm and now it's just in my palms ."

Holding me again , she landed a hard punch to my belly and I screamed . Damn! This girl could hit.

But I wasn't letting her win. A woman got to do what a woman got to do.

I stuck out fingers and dug them deep into her eyes pulling her hair so hard she fell down grasping the roots of her hair.

But I wasn't done yet, I hit her so hard and even though it didn't affect her much , she felt the pain.
"How does it feel to be on the receiving end Elena !" I asked sarcastically

"You won't get away with this Ella or you Stevie , I swear on my life you will pay!"

"Stevie..get me a syringe in my drawer.. hurry!"

Elena struggled against me but my hold was firm in her hair.
That's the only weakness of all girls. Once you have a grip on their hair, they'll do anything !

Stevie handed me the syringe and I dug it deep into her skin and I watched in satisfaction as she went still in my arms

"She will be out for a few hours. That is enough for us to get far from her."

Taking her phone ,I texted her men to go to the farthest side of the town so as to give Stevie time to escape . I was going back home into the sea my mission was already accomplished .

"But where will I go? At least you are independent but I depend entirely on that man to cater for all my needs !"

"Just open a new account , I'll have money deposited into it in an hour. Change everything about you and oh! You have some explaining to do !"

We ascended the stairs looking for any sign of Elena's men but there was none. I guess she was so sure that she would catch me that she sent all her people to do the dirty work for her.

I called Travis asking him to wait for me as I had an emergency and he promised to.

Outside the gate was wide open and still no sign of anyone suspicious .

"My car is three houses away, so once we're outside I need you to make a run for it!"
"Okay."

I pitied her so much. And now her eyes were so scared I had to stop myself from breaking down.

"Stevie, hey look at me! Everything is going to be fine okay? Just trust me," she just nodded

"I know we haven't been the best of friends but just trust me okay?"

"Thank you so much for everything Ella. I don't know what to say,"

When we are outside the gates, we look both sides before attempting to run the other way to my car.. I mean Travis' car but then it seems like luck is not on our side because we heard

"Where do you think you are running off to?"
