CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

My feet get rooted to the ground when I see Travis ..

When his eyes held mine I just realized how much I had missed him

And within minutes I'm in his arms, I could smell his scent as he hugged me tightly to him and I clinged back like my life depended on it

I blinked rapidly to keep my pearls  from coming out

"I missed you so much Ella !" He exclaimed

I couldn't answer , I wanted to answer but I couldn't so I hugged him tightly and that it told my unsaid words.

"Travis , save me a hug too. You know I missed her too !" Stevie said jokingly pulling Travis away from me

"You came back . I was so lonely and Travis was not willing to tell me when you were coming back or even where you went! I missed you !"

Stevie was the emotional type of girls because within minutes , her cheeks were stained with tears.

I wanted to comfort her and tell her everything would be fine but I knew Smith was the one responsible.

"Uuhm Stevie? I brought someone along."

It's like Smith was awaiting my words because as I finished them , he was outside behind me and from Stevie's shocked face, I knew she had also seen him.

"Smith ?" She whispered softly

I didn't want to interrupt their moment so I left them as I headed inside to see Travis .

"You came back so fast. Any news on my mother?" Travis said startling me

" Don't ever do that again," I said trying to stabilize my racing heart

"Do what ?" He asked completely unaware of what he had done

"You fucking scared me ! Don't pull that on me please ,"

"Okay . Did you find anything about my mother ?" He repeated his earlier question excitement clear in his voice

"I heard it the first time you don't have to repeat yourself. " I sighed knowing that the next part was going to break his hopes but there was no other choice

"And no. I have no information about your mother !" I said looking anywhere apart from his gaze

"What? You promised to find out what exactly happened to her. So why did you come back then !"

The coldness in his voice chilled me as I whispered involuntarily.
I felt pity for him and my heart went out to him

But then I recalled how I had been held hostage and the pity disappeared.

"Don't you dare speak to me in that manner again Travis or else you will know what the sea princess is capable of doing !" I said in the most menacing voice I could master

"Oh yeah ? And what are you going to do ? You are all barks with no bite ! What are you going to do about it princess ?" His voice was mocking me and I resisted the urge to hit him hard.

I knew he was hurt and he was taking it out on me so I swallowed my pride and decided to be the bigger person between us.

"I never reached far that night . I was captured by someone and I only came back to my senses today . I found Smith guarding my cubicle and turned tables with him. Turns out that Stevie's father is behind everything and he was threatening Smith without his daughter's consent. I managed to bring him here but Davis Martins is not yet done with him , I'm sure he'll be looking for Smith by now."

I don't wait for his reply as I head upstairs to have a long relaxing bath before planning on how I can handle the Martins.

The guest room is just like I left it and I smile foolishly as I head to the shower.

I might be a fish but I needed a wash !

I close my eyes as I get soaked in the water , each droplet making me shiver with excitement .

I wrap my hair in a towel as I wrap another one around my body as I take slow steps to get a blow drier that I saw somewhere in the drawers.

I managed to dry my hair and tied up into a high ponytail . I decided to wear my casual jeans and a baggy shirt with no bra underneath.

I'm so overjoyed as I slide into the sheets anticipating a peaceful sleep as I rest.

As I expected, I dream of my beautiful kingdom but I am so young and we are chasing each other with another girl a little bit older than me. The girl is so happy, genuinely happy as she chases me making sure to let me escape without her catching me.
"Amelia I won ! You couldn't catch me. Yeeey ! I won , I won ."

I sang on and on as she just smiled widely at me opening her arms for me to hug her.

It's only when I was almost hugging her that I saw her face .. it was my sister Amelia !

I opened my eyes quickly recalling the dream.

I almost wailed as that was not only a dream ... It was a memory of the last day Amelia and I had gotten along.
It's from that day that she had changed completely avoiding me like a plague and finding ways to make my life a living hell.

Whatever had happened to Amelia over the night was still a mystery to me and I hoped that I'll find out and bring my loving sister back.

As I readied myself to go back to sleep , a scream had me jumping from my bed as I heard a commotion developing outside.

Whoever was causing the commotion must have been stronger because in the next couple of minutes, there was silence before a thick deep masculine voice erupted into fits of laughter.

"Daniella!" He called out coldly
"I know you are in there and you are probably coming up with a plan to disappear . Well, you could just go ahead and get away but your three friends will pay dearly for that or you could put your arms in the air and come our and your friends get to see another day ! You have two minutes to decide. Tik ! Tok !"

I am conflicted on what to do before his voice comes through reminding me that I have thirty seconds to decide.

Without further hesitation, I lift my hands up and head outside, my head bowed in surrender as my shoulders droop with defeat.

But I decide to look up at the offender and I'm not surprised to find Elena with two of her men and someone one else I instantly tell as her father... Davis Martins.
