CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

When I woke up, my body was so numb.. just like the last time I woke up in the Martins cubicle

In a span of less than a day, I had been caught by the same person

I wondered what he had done to me this time round .

As my eyes remained closed as I tried to visualize my surroundings.

I sighed as all my attempts to move my hands or even my legs failed .

Whatever they had done had me stagnant and it hurt so bad.

I finally opened my eyes as I squinted them to adjust to the light in as much as it was not much light.

Looking around , all I could see was trees.. thick trees that we're so high and  were so close to each other making this part of the woods dense

But there was a clearing right where I was and on looking at myself , I realized I was tied to a similar tree... No wonder I was hurting so much

Just as I was about to raise my voice and call for help, there was a gentle breeze that had me shivering on my legs
"Why am I feeling cold on my legs when I had on my casual jeans ?"

I looked down and what greeted me was my long brown legs with nothing covering them.

I raised my eyes to look at my bust and sighed when I saw that i was dressed in a white dress that reached mid thigh.

"Where am I ? " I thought to myself because the place was unusually quiet . No animal dared make a sound , even the crickets that were notorious in making noice were so quiet ...it was like they were obeying an order.

"I need to get out of here as soon as possible!" I said more to myself .

I didn't know for how long I struggled without a positive feedback as I gave up and waited for whatever was going to take place .

I kept sleeping for few hours and waking up to the silent woods.

Maybe this was my fate.. that I would die out here all alone . But at least I had saved my people from the dangers of the factory ! But wait.. what if Travis decided to go back to hunting down his mother alone through the earlier means ? Then that would mean that I had failed my father, my mother, Anita and all the clan members.

It's at this point that I missed my parents . My father would have told me to be stronger and my mother would have cuddled me kissing my hair softly.

I once again closed my eyes sinking in to slumber land.

I was busy dreaming when I heard voices.

The voices seemed so far away but so close at the same time

I forced myself to wake up as the voices got louder and louder.

It didn't take me minutes to realize that the voice was actually coming from the clearing and it was almost night time

There were people .. both men and women dressed in the same dresses as me while the males were also dressed in white clothes around the lower region

The women had their faces drawn in traditional paints while the men had drawings on their chests and faces also.

They were dancing moving in a circle as they sang songs in a language that was so foreign to me

The centre was a little bit blurred but I could make out silhouettes of drummers

It's like they didn't notice my presence as they continued dancing lifting their hands up .

As the night progressed so did their dances.
They started dancing with vigour one would think they had no bones.

Their voices raising with each passing second

"Who are these people?"

That's the question that was ringing in my head the whole time as I watched the events unfolding before me.

" I was supposed to be with Elena and crew.."

I thought again.

As if listening to me, the women danced with more vigour as the men jumped higher and higher until they came to a stop at the same time.

Their loud breathing irked me so bad I wanted to break a bone

They cleared their circle and the centre was now clear to me.... I saw her.

So magnificent .. so beautiful in the white dress that she had on.
A tiara on her head with her hair flowing in lengths behind her.
Elena was a beauty to behold .

Such a pity that such a beautiful face had a soul darker than Lucifer's and for that I could testify

I hadn't noticed that all eyes were on me as she walked towards me, a powerful aura sorrounded her every step and I almost cowered in fear.

She had that smile on.... That smile that spelled trouble to me.

Her eyes had a glint in them that spoke otherwise and they looked empty to me
It's like all her humanity was gone

"You know , I just thought that all the things that I did to you would make you change your mind but I guess you are a disgrace to humanity !" I spat

She looked unaffected by my choice of words before sneering at me
"Humanity?  Humanity is for humans like you! But for people who are not human like me then that word doesn't exist ."

Horror filled my eyes as she said those words .

"Yo..u're... You're not human ?" I whispered more to myself

"That's only for me to know . Besides I was human enough to ask you to take us to your fellow pure hearts but you refused so what was I supposed to do?"

Arguing with her would yield no fruits so I just looked down unable to look at her

She removed a golden dagger checking it out with pleasure

"I promised to dig this dagger into your flesh as I cut you piece into piece and I'm just going to fulfill that promise right now !"

I refused to cry.. I refused to break in front of them. They might have broken me but the didn't deserve to know it.

So I just closed my eyes and waited for fate to take it's course .

I could feel the blade on my skin as sher rambled on and on about things I couldn't understand while  they started singing again  ,
This is it !
I thought again

Elena traced the dagger right until it was where my heart lay.

I smelt it long enough to make me throw up

That metallic smell that i was allergic to

BLOOD!
