y/n p.o.v.

"Y/n!!!!" C/s (crush's sister) exclaimed as she opened the front door.

"Hey!!!" I replied excitedly.

C/s was a year and half younger than me but we were still really close friends.

We hadn't seen each other in a month since summer started so we decided to hang out at her house today.

"Hey," she said closing the front door behind me. "I found this amazing new cookie recipe that I wanted to try, you wanna try it?"

"Yes, I've been craving a good batch of cookies lately," I laughed at myself and she laughed as well.

"Ok then, let's get started!" She skipped toward the kitchen and I walked after her smiling.

-

"Now, we wait," c/s said excitedly as she set the timer on the oven.

"Hey, I'm gonna use the restroom, ok?" I said as I began to head toward the stairs.

"Ok," she said not turning around.

I walked up the stairs and past c/n's room. As I pasted it I didn't hear gunshots from the video games he's always playing which was odd.

I disregarded it until I passed by on my way back. I paused when I came to it.

The door was cracked open a bit. I looked in, just barely, and to the side where his bed was against the wall.

I saw his eyes were red and puffy -like he'd been crying.

I opened the door fully and went to sit next to him. "C/n, are you ok? What's wrong?" I asked putting my hand on his arm.

"Yea, yea, yea, I'm fine, it's nothing, I'm good," he said uncertainly as he rubbed his eyes.

"Hey," I began, stroking his arm a bit in comfort. "I may not know you perfectly, but I know you well enough and I can read people pretty well, so I know there's something wrong," he was looking at me now.

He sighed. "Ok, I've just been really, uh, distressed lately, and uh, it's just, too much," he breathed slowly.

"C/n," I said with empathy. "I'm sorry, it's ok. Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked sincerely. I could see tears welling up in his eyes again and his nose was still red, eyes still puffy.

"Just," his voice caught and he choked back tears "hold me," he breathed.

"Hey, hey, hey, c'mere, it's ok, I'm here," I said holding out my arms. He buried his head in the curve of my neck and let out soft cries. "Shhhh," I pet his head softly. He wrapped his arms around me. "If you wanna talk, talk. If not, that's ok too. Whatever you need, I'm here," I said in sympathy, now rubbing his back.

-

I sat there, on his bed, holding him for about three minutes before he began to speak quietly.

"You smell nice," he said quietly.

"I just washed my hands," I replied kindly.

"No, you, your hair," he said a little louder than before.

"Oh," I blushed slightly "thank you,"

He sat up on his own now.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

He nodded then shook his head.

"You wanna talk about it? I'm a really good listener," I smiled softly.

"I just, I'm not great at, you know, expressing my feelings." He said.

"Most guys aren't," I said with a shrug "but that's ok," I continued to smile compassionately at him hoping it would make him feel better.

"I uh, I just feel like, no one actually likes me, and that I'm all alone in the world really, and uh, I'm sorry you don't need to listen to my problems..." He trailed off.

"No, no, no, you tell me whatever you want I'm here for whatever you need, I want to help you," I said putting my hand on his knee.

He took a deep breath, "I've just had a really messed up childhood and the fact that the world is so messed up, I just feel like I'm carrying too much weight on my shoulders while trying to be happy all the time," he said all in one breath.

"C/n," I said softly "I know, you've had a tough upbringing, and I know what it's like trying to keep positive in front of people and then going home and feeling empty behind closed doors. But, can I tell you something?" He nodded. "You... are perfect. In every possible way. Everyone loves you and no one is going to judge you for having your own problems because everyone has them and people without them are lying -whether they're lying to themselves or just the world."

"I just, feel so alone," he sighed.

"You're not. I promise you, you're not. You have your family who cares about you, your friends," I hesitated "you have me," I couldn't look him in the eye now. He looked up.

"I have you?" He asked. I just nodded, smiled, and looked up again. He smiled now too.

"Y/n," he smiled at me. "You are the kindest person I've ever known."

"No," I scoffed.

"I'm serious!" He said smiling wider. "You're so compassionate and caring, and anyone who knows you is lucky to," I was blushing obviously now. "And, you have really pretty eyes," I smiled. "And hair, and your smile is the most amazing thing I've ever seen," I hid my face in my hands, shaking my head.

He took my hands and brought them to his lips, softly kissing them. "Y/n," he said.

"What?" I blushed, unable to keep the smile off my face.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too," I smiled.

"No," he caressed my face. "I love you. I always have, and I always will,"

He pulled me into a hug. "I love you too, c/n," I said as I hugged him back.

"Will you stay with me?" He breathed heavily.

"Of course," I agreed.

We snuggled under his covers and I just made sure he was ok. Just like I always have.
