A/N: hey yall! I really wanted to update earlier, trust me, but I just starting my driving lessons! (tomorrow I'm having the 6th one lol) so far so good, wish me luck! I'm trying to finish it as fast as I can!

Zach's POV:

You know what?

Maybe it wasn't so smart of me to volunteer to help out.

Like, don't get me wrong, I was trying to help, I really was,

But it was like Rosa didn't want any help at all.

I offered to season the food, she refused.

I offered to chop some more vegetables to the salad, she refused.

Put some butter in the pan? Refused.

Even when I tried to create a conversation with her... she basically refused to answer.

I was so pissed at this point. Like, what is wrong with you? I'm just being nice and polite, why are you acting like such a bitch?

She finally "allowed" me to peel some potatoes. Gee, thanks.

---------------------------------

"Merry Christmas!" I recognized my mother's voice.

Thank god. Now I can go back to Brian.

"hey mom, Merry Christmas" I greeted her as she gave me a tight hug.

"look at you all dressed up and handsome!" she said and kissed my forehead. Ew.

"Merry Christmas Rosa! You have such a lovely house!"

"thank you so much! We're so glad to have you!" Rosa replied and hugged my mom.

Liar.

I just rolled my eyes and continued peeling more potatoes while Rosa and my mom began to talk about random stuff like home décor and gardening.

They were talking very quietly, but I could still hear everything. I just chose to pretend I don't.

"your son is such a lovely guy" my mom stated.

I smiled a little. She sounded actually genuine... for a change.

"your son is very lovely as well, very polite. You've done a great job raising him" Rosa replied.

Not sure if she was lying again or not... but I wouldn't be surprised if she did lie again.

"may I ask you something?" Rosa asked a couple of minutes later.

"mm-hm" my mom nodded as she was seasoning the chicken.

The audacity.

"you don't care about the whole... you know... gay thing?" Rosa whispered the last part, but I was still legit right behind her so... why even bother?

"no, I don't. I love my son as he is" my mom simply replied.

Ha! In your face, you little hater!

"yes, I love my son too. But it doesn't bother you, that whole phase?" Rosa asked again.

"phase?" my mom asked confused.

"yes, it's just a phase you know" Rosa replied.

I swear I could choke her right here, right now.
