I groaned feeling my heat source move. I grabbed their arm without opening my eyes and pulled them closer, throwing my leg over them as I did so. Their chest vibrated with their chuckle making me smile, "If you don't want me peeing on you then you should let me go." I instantly let Jordan go and sat up, causing my back to throb as I did.
I looked around and realized there was a bed on the left side of the room. It wasn't there the last time I checked. I tilted my head about to ask Jordan why there was another bed but he had already left to use the bathroom.
Sighing, I lay back down. I closed my eyes hoping sleep would come back to me but apparently it was on vacation right now. Without sleep my mind drifted.
"I wanna know what made you treat me like shit! Is that not obvious?" I threw my hands up.
"You wanna hear why I've been treating you like shit?" He looked at me. "Because-"
I squeezed my eyes closed before opening them and staring at the plain white ceiling.
He looked at me. "Because-"
I wonder what he was going to say. It could be a number of things but I felt it was something simpler than that. It had been three days since the accident. Nobody will tell me if Bennett's getting better. Bren told me she doesn't want to get my hopes up, but what she doesn't realize is that by not telling me she's bringing me more pain. I rather be hopeful then think he's dying while I'm getting better.
It's all my fault. If I hadn't yelled at him to tell me why he was being the way he was then he wouldn't be in this hospital. I'm the reason he's here. I caused this.
"Hey, stop over thinking." I looked over at the door surprised to see Declan standing there. "Sorry I haven't come to visit you." I guess my face showed my surprise. I sat up slowly, pulling my pillow behind me as I did so I could lean against it.
I watched him stuff his hands in his jean pockets and look at the ground, seeming to think it was really interesting. "Declan, stop standing in the doorway and take a seat." I gestured to the seat that was by my bed. It was the seat my parents sat in and everyone who had come to see me.
He nodded making his way to the seat and sitting down. He started fidgeting with his hands, he seemed to be focusing on his hands as he spoke "I'm sorry."
"For what?" I looked at him strangely.
"For- um," He glanced up at me before looking back at his hands. "For telling Bennett where you were going on your date." I furred my brows, confused on why he was telling me this. "I just thought if I told him then he would go get you and he would tell you how he feels but.. but I shouldn't have done that because now you're in a hospital bed and Bennett's-"
"Stop." I interrupted him. He looked up at me finally. I looked at him, I really looked at him. His eyes were bloodshot, it looked like he hadn't slept that well at all, and his clothes were a mess. "Declan stop blaming yourself. It wasn't your fault and I'm happy you told him even if we ended up in a car crash- " He gave me a look and I smiled. "Sorry, not helping. Just know that it's not your fault and that I'm not mad at you one bit." I smiled and opened my arms for him.
His lips cracked a smile and he opened his arms wrapping them around me gently. It was like he was hugging glass. I wanted to laugh but kept it in, we were having a moment. "You could have come to see me sooner though." I grumbled, patting his back as he pulled away.
He laughed ruffling my hair, "I'll visit you more from now on, okay?" He looked at me with a gleam in his eye that I hadn't seen before. It made me blink and stare at him with a smile forming on my lips.
