I hugged Bennett awkwardly since I was still kinda ignoring him. He pulled back a little and flashed me a smile before pressing his lips to mine so quickly I almost thought it didn't happen. His smug smile proved I was right. I scoffed, pulling away from him completely.
On the outside I was rolling my eyes, annoyed. Inside I wanted to pull him back and smash my face to his. As if he could hear my thoughts his face grew smug again. Smug bastard.
"Bye Naomi."
"Yeah, yeah bye to you too." I waved it off and started walking out the room with my mom.
"Honey, what was that all about?" She looked closer at me as I avoided eye contact.
"Nothing." I mumbled.
Suddenly she lit up and started giggling. "You guys kissed." I groaned knowing what was to come. "My baby kissed a boy!"
"My baby kissed a boy." I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Mom please don't start."
She looked at me horrified. "How could I not! My baby kissed a boy, one of her best friends no less! Honestly I'm so happy for you, I thought you would never get another boyfriend after that Peter fellow. He was such a nice boy, a true gentleman. What ever happened to him?"
I groaned as one of my hands rubbed down my face. "Mom I've told you time and time again, we didn't work out and he moved away. Also what do you mean you didn't think I was going to find a boyfriend after him?"
"Oh honey, I didn't mean it that way!" She started rubbing my arm comfortingly. "I meant that with how you kinda act scary that you might scar off-"
"Mom!"
"Oops sorry not helping." She covered her mouth with her hand.
"Mom can you just drop it and take me home please." I begged as we stopped at the car that my dad had been waiting in.
She sighed letting it go, "Our home or your home?"
"My home mom." I sighed getting into the back. I buckled and leaned my head against the window as my mom buckled as well and my dad started the car.
"What did the doctor say?" I glanced at my dad before closing my eyes.
"I'm going in on Friday for my physical therapy, other than that he said I was good to go and to take my medicine before bed for the pain."
A shake to my shoulder woke me up. I jumped before looking around. I blinked a couple times then rubbed my eyes as I unbuckled.
"We're here honey." I nodded getting out of the car. Looking up at the house I've been living in for only a couple months I take a deep breath. It didn't look different but I felt it was different. Bennett wasn't going to be reading a magazine in his chair, Declan wasn't going to be sitting on the couch playing his video game, Jordan wasn't going to be on his phone messing around laying upside down on the couch whining about food.
They both had classes and wouldn't be home until later tonight since they would drop something's off for Bennett. I was sad that they wouldn't be there to greet me but at least Bennett wouldn't be bored, plus I could just take a nap.
Grabbing my backpack full of everything I had at the hospital and walking up to the front door, I pull out my keys and unlock the door. Pushing the door open and flicking on the lights I about have a heart attack at what greets me.
"Welcome home!" I hold my heart as Jordan, Declan, Sang, Gabe, some guy I don't remember, Lynn, Brenn, and even Bentley pop confetti and basically burst my eardrums.
"Ay! I just got out of the hospital, are you trying to send me back?" They all laugh and come give me hugs. Bentley side hugs me while commenting on the house.
