ADALINE'S POV
Since Alex and Amelia's engagement party, things had been rather busy. Paul and I had celebrated our third wedding anniversary with a day trip to Sussex. Mady had also received a phone call from Julie's daughter Emma saying that they were coming in for a weekend, so we had Julie, Blake and the kids over for a day while they were in town. It was wonderful to have the kids all together again. Also two weeks ago Lily gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in; Eleanor Margaret Mitchell, Ellie for short. We've only seen her once since she's been born, but she's a beautiful little thing. Charlie is beyond in love and Ellie already has him wrapped around her little finger.
Currently Matt and Mady were playing with Rose while I sat in the dining room attempting to feed Mia solid foods.
"Come on Mia, let's try some yummy applesauce!"
She just babbled away. Out of the three of them, Mia's definitely the most chatty as a baby. She loves babbling away all day and is becoming more curious as to what's all around her.
"Mmm get ready." I put a small bit on a spoon and slowly fed it to her. She seemed a bit confused at first, but then she had a happy look on her face. "Is that good? Huh?"
"So how's the applesauce coming?" Paul walked in, coming up behind her as he kissed the top of her head.
"She seems to like it. So far she likes oats and applesauce. I think in a few weeks I'm going to start working on vegetables with her." I told him as I continued to feed her.
"Our little Mimi's such a good little eater!" He smiled and kissed her cheek, causing her to giggle. "I know we've said it before, but she's honestly the happiest of all of the kids when they were this age. We lucked out this time around."
"We really did." I smiled and looked over into the family room to see the kids. "We've just been so blessed."
"MUMMY! MATTY TOOK MY DOLLY!" I heard Mady yell, soon followed by screaming which turned into crying.
"Madelynn! Matthew!" I yelled. Paul took picked up Mia and began to burp her as I went into the living room. "Kids. Tell me what happened?"
"I was playing with my dolly and Matty came over and took it! Then I take it back and he hit me!" Mady cried, running over and grabbing onto my legs.
Did I forgot to mention that Matt's hit the terrible twos? It's not too bad, but there are spurts where he acts out and problems start.
"Matthew James! It's not nice to take your sister's toys or hit her."
Soon Rose came in, followed by Paul.
"Adaline, I'm so sorry. I went to the playroom to get some things for us to colour and they were playing nicely when I left." Rose explained.
"Rosie, it's okay. These kind of things happen."
"Daddy!" Mady yelled as she ran over to him, wanting him to hold her.
"Daddy's here, princess." He comforted her, picking her up as Rose took the baby.
"Now little man we need to talk." I picked him up and sat him on the couch. "Honey, you don't hit your sister. Okay?"
He just gave a small nod as little tears formed in his eyes. "Sowwy Mummy..."
"Hey..." I held him tightly and wiped his tears. "It's okay..." I rubbed his back and walked him over to Paul and Mady. "Now can you tell Mady you're sorry?"
