Chapter 11

19 October 1970

ADALINE'S POV

Today Rose took Mady and Matt out for the day, while Paul and I had Mia to ourself. It was nice just having some time alone with the baby. Especially now that she's crawling and on the move! Our little Mimi loves crawling and her tummy time.

The one thing with Mia is that we've noticed she doesn't have a favourite parent yet. Paul is Mady's favourite and I'm Matt's, obviously, but Mia doesn't really seem to have a favourite yet. But her favourite person in general would definitely be Mady. She LOVES her big sister to death. I still think sometimes Matt gets a bit jealous, but hopefully if this new baby's a boy he'll feel better about everything.

Currently Paul and I were in the studio while Mia was taking a nap. He was working on the album and I was attempting my next book.

"What song are you working on now?"

"The Back Seat of My Car." He turned to me and smiled. "How's our little one doing?" He asked, running his hand over my bump.

"They're doing well. I'm having heartburn and indigestion lately, but nothing new."

"I feel like you're a pro at this now that we're on baby #4." He said with a chuckle.

"Somewhat. Still every pregnancy is different. I've never had morning sickness as bad as I did with this one."

"Hopefully, the rough part is over for now. Until you hit the end of your third trimester. I know that's when it gets tough for you."

"Oh, I don't even want to think about that yet...I'm perfect happy in my second trimester."

We then heard a loud cry from the baby monitor as I stood up. "Sounds like our baby girl's up. I'll be right back." I went upstairs to the nursery to find her wide awake. "Hi baby girl! Did you have a good nap?"

She just smiled at me and clapped her hands. That's a new thing too. She's finally able to clap and she's having so much fun with it.

"Yay!" I smiled and picked her up. After getting her changed I took her back down to the studio. "Look who's down here, Mia. It's Daddy and Martha!"

"Hi baby girl!" Paul smiled as he got up, came over and kissed her.

"It's so weird having just her in the house. Usually the kids would be in here playing with all of your instruments."

"They would! Matt loves the drums and Mady's obsessed with the piano."

"Once the kids get older you'll be able to make a band with them." I giggled as I sat down with Mia, she quickly crawling over to Martha.

Paul just chuckled and smiled. "Maybe one day. So, what plans do you have for today?"

"I still have to run to the store to get things for Mady's party. I have almost everything I need, except I need a few more things for the cake and such."

"I can stay here with the baby while you do that. I think I'll sing and play for her for a little while. We had fun with that last week. Yes we did. Didn't we, baby girl?" He asked as she clapped excitedly.

"Are you sure you don't mind?"

"Not at all. You do what you have to. Mia and I will be good here." He smiled as Mia grabbed onto the piano.

"Looks like we'll have another musician in the family." I giggled. "Now Mimi, you have fun with Daddy!" I gave her a kiss as she giggled.
