ADALINE'S POV
We were leaving for the states in a little over a week and I've been busy making sure we had everything to pack. We would be there for 3 weeks total. Packing 3 weeks worth of clothes and such for a family of five is more work than you think.
The kids were beyond excited. We were keeping a daily countdown and every morning during breakfast they would yell about how many days we had left until we see Mickey Mouse. I loved seeing them this excited.
Currently I was going through things to pack for Mia while Paul was downstairs playing with Mady and Matt.
"I think we're just about good, baby girl." I picked up Mia and kissed her. "Ohh, I think someone needs changed. Yes you do."
I took her over to the changing table as I heard the phone ring.
"Paul! Can you get the phone? I'm getting Mia changed!" I called out. I didn't hear a response but the ringing stop.
"There we go, peanut." I finished changing Mia and picked her up. "Let's go downstairs to Daddy and your brother and sister." I smiled and came downstairs to find Mady sitting on the couch on the telephone.
"We leavin' for Disney soon! I'm gonna see Mickey Mouse!" She exclaimed.
"Madelynn Mary, what are you doing answering the telephone?"
"Daddy's outside with Matty and you with Mia so I answered it!"
"Well thank you, darling. Mummy will take the phone now." I said as I took it from her. "Hello? I'm so sorry about that. I didn't realise Madelynn had answered the phone."
"Oh, it's not problem at all. She was telling me all about her baby sister and the Disney trip. Your daughter seems lovely."
Julie Andrews...Madelynn answered the phone and was talking to Julie Andrews.
"Oh, thank you so much. She's becoming little miss independent lately. Again, I'm so sorry about the phone. I had to change Mia's nappy and Paul's outside with Matthew. I didn't realise she had answered the phone."
"Honestly Adaline, there's no need to apologise."
"Well thank you." I smiled and sat down. "So is Emma getting excited? We only have less than two weeks to go."
"She is. She keeps asking when her new friends will be coming. I'm so glad our kids will have each other to play with."
"I do too. Madelynn's so excited to meet Emma."
"I'm so glad the kids will have each other to run around with. And I do have to say I'm excited to talk about your book with you."
I still couldn't get over the fact that Julie Andrews liked my books.
"Oh, you're so sweet!" I smiled. "I'm just thrilled for this trip. I haven't been to the states since I was a little girl. You'll have to show me around."
"Oh, I know you'll love it here. We have so much planned. It was so sweet of our husbands to figure out things for us."
"They what?" I asked. Paul never mentioned this.
"Oh, he must have been surprising you. Paul called and talked to Blake the other week. Seems they have all the arrangements taken care of."
"They made the arrangements? How sweet of them to do."
"You'll be staying not far from us. it's rather nice." She told me. "It'll be great."
"I can't wait." I smiled and heard the back door open and Matt call for me. "Sounds like Paul and Matthew are back. I'll talk to you soon?"
