We were walking for ages, my feet were killing me. I seemed like the only person who noticed though, everyone else seemed content but it might just be because they were excited. I had a tough time being excited.
I had a bad feeling about this place. Bellamy had said they had high security when he had gone, and I mean who knows maybe they might not even keep up their end of the bargain. Bellamy hadn't seen the ship when he was there, they might not even have one.
I felt someone grab my hand, I looked up to see Bellamy waiting for my reaction. I smiled and blushed just a smidge. "You seem really nervous." He stated.
"Oh no, not at all." I lied. "Ok yeah I'm freaking out, what if they don't hold their end of the bargain? What if they take us prisoner and expect us to do what they originally brought us here for? I have a really bad feeling about this place."
"Don't freak out so much. Everything is going to be fine,i promise you."
"Last time you broke your promise to me remember?"
"Well that was a while ago." He said scratching the back of his neck nervously.
"Actually that was a couple of days ago." I laughed. He wasn't helping the situation, but it felt nice to hold his hand.
I was about to freak out on someone because we've been walking for so long, when finally we were here. A huge building stood in front if me, not tall but wide. It curved into a circle, and a few hundred feet away from it I5+
could see the ship!
The building looked relatively old, it had a few areas where you could tell it was old. A man walked up to us. He was short and chubby, he was wearing a suit despite the weather. I dropped Bellamy's hand, and put mine on my hips.
"Hello there children." He said. He wasn't much older than us, maybe ten or fifteen years older.
"Who are you?" One of us asked.
"My name is Mr. Dobb. Welcome to where we work. We use this building to work on our research mostly. We work on science experiments and labs, making our own products, renewing our resources, and our finest work- our reproduction area. We live just North of here, mostly we live in tents, some small houses and buildings. In fact we were quite impressed with how quickly and well you guys built your building- well house i mean."
"Why live in such paramilitary housing and have such advanced work space?" Bellamy asked.
"We believed that we should deserve the highest materials for our research and by the time we had finished we had none left for our living circumstances." He explained. It still didn't tell me why they were spying on us. How they knew that we had a great home to live in.
"If you make your own products then why don't you make more materials to up your living status?" Lilly asked.
"Well because that would take time away from making the materials that are essentials to us."
"Wait a second." I blurted. "How do you know what our camp looks like?"
"Well, you did come to our planet." He answered. I guess he had a point.
"What do you do in your reproducing line of work?"o Someone else asked.
"We take the eggs of a female and a sperm of a male and we make a child."
"That is so disgusting!" Someone called out.
"Actually compared to how the way i'm sure most of you are familiar with, it's quite the opposite of that. Our research is done in a sanitary lab with trained professionals." He looked around for more questions.
