Quince's POV

I woke up in a large white bed. There were white sheets and a white blanket encasing me. I lifted the blanket off of me and realized I was wearing a white night gown. It was so confusing. The last thing I could remember was jumping off of that old bridge...What happened?

I got off of the bed and I was I. This plain white room. Everything was white. Except, for the walls. They were a very light purple. Like lavender. It made me happy.

I walked around the room confused a and dazed. The room felt like a distant memory. I felt like I was at home but it wasn't. This wasn't home, but why did it feel like that. There was only one window. It was in the center of the room where a comfy curl up corner was.

While admiring the woodwork on the bed frame, I began to hear the door to the room turn. I backed away. Then the Dior opened to reveal...

"Mom?!?" I asked shocked. "What's going on? Is this some sick joke? What the f--" I was cut off.

"Quince let me explain." She sighed. "I'm not alive." I began to ask her what but she cut me off again. "Your not in the real world right now. Your in a coma right now. When you jumped off that bridge, you didn't fall straight down. You slanted to the side and hit a rock. Your hiof of your sweatshirt caught onto a fallen down tree and you hung there unconscious. Jorge called 911 and they managed to save you before you fell. But Quince you might not wake up for a very long time. Right now we are the middle of the spirit world and the human world. Quince, there is no heaven or hell. Although I wish to believe so, there is not.

Your here because I brought you here. Your in our house from when you were very little. I can tell you remember it but can't quite put your finger on it. When you were 5 we moved out because your father spent all the money on alcohol..." She trailed off.

"Mom...What happened that night?" A single tear fell down my face. I had to know.

She sighed. "We began to drive and your father was very drunk. His words were very slurred and he barely keep his eyes open. He ran a red light and a truck on the freeway smashed into the passenger side. My side..Your father survived with a broken arm. I was killed on impact " Tears started trailing down my face.

I ran towards her and she encased me in her arms. She huge me tightly and I could feel her tars fall onto my bare shoulders. She stroked my hair and kissed my hair.

"I'm so sorry I left you with him Quince. I'm so, so sorry. I love you with all my heart and don't let your father ruin your life." She let me go and held me back a little from her. She gripped my shoulders and the a look of seriousness on her face.

"Quince. When you wake up, I need you to call the cops and tell them everything your father has done. And I mean everything." She stroked my cheek. I nodded my head and held her hand that was stroking my cheek. "I love you too mom."
