The man came straight up to my door. He stood outside with an angry face. I rolled down my window with a smile on my face and I said, "Can I help you sir?"

He grabbed by the collar and pulled me toward him. "You can start by telling me why you're following me," he yelled in my face. His spit flew into my face.

"Dude, say it don't spray it," I said irritated as I wiped my face with my arm.

"Well you can answer my question," he said as his voice calmed a bit and the spit stopped flying. His voice was a bit raspy, as if he didn't have anything to drink for a while. His fedora still covered most of his face but his face was round, unlike mine which was more angled.

"I haven't been following you," I said after studying his face, "I was only going in the only direction I could out of town. Also why did you run and steal a car, you don't look like that much of a criminal."

"Same goes to you, but I had to. The IPSF have been trying to track me down for a month. I've been hiding in Renville the whole time. I completely forgot that there was a car rental place in Renville. Other than that I don't really know why the IPSF was trying to find me."

"So you have troubles with the IPSF?"

"Yeah I guess," he said finally letting go of me.

"Well I just found trouble with the IPSF. They came to my room at the hotel to question about a beast that attacked me, which I have no real memory about the attack. Then they noticed something about that was off I guess ad so I ran."

"Hmm," he started thinking. I could practically hear the gears turning in his head.

"Anyway my name is Cosmo, what's yours?" I finally said after a bit of strange silence. He didn't answer me for a while so I looked around to see where we've stopped. I could see nothing but trees and plains everywhere I looked except east, where I found a small little town on a hill.

"My name is Isaac," he finally answered. He lifted his fedora off his head and shook my hand. His hair was messy and brown with a couple of blond streaks here and there. His eyes though quickly shown between a black and a white and then settled at a gray.

"Oh, I now know why the IPSF found you weird," I said as he put his fedora back on.

"Yeah, I know they're kind of creepy. Yours, however looked pretty cool," he pronounced the syllables of "pretty" separately.

"Yeah, I guess. So why'd you stop driving."

"Ran out of gas, so can I borrow your car."

"No, you can ride shotgun. I stole this car fair and square," I said with a bit of pride.

"Fine, but let's stop at that town on the town 'cuz I'm really thirsty and hungry." Isaac got into the car on the passenger side and drove off, leaving the other car behind.

The black van stopped slowly in back of the small rental. Louie and Drake climbed out of the car and walked over to it.

"Well we found the first one," said Drake with a stern voice, "They couldn't've gone far."

"We have to find them, who knows what they can do," said Louie gravely.

"I bet they drove off to that town in the distance," said Drake as he nodded his head toward the town on the hill.

"They should've just complied and came with us," said Louie. Both officers slowly walked back to their black van in silence and then drove off.
