Takevu peeked from behind the corner again, she knew that she didn't stand a chance against so many soldiers, the only option was to distract them.
Her gaze locked into the small chunks of concrete that had fallen from one of columns, she grabbed one of them and carefully tossed it towards the main hall, the soldiers were alerted by the noise and started going towards it.
She took another chunk and tossed it again with a little more strength, although the soldiers were getting distracted, Takevu knew that it wouldn't last long enough for her own soldiers to arrive, she needed a backup plan.
The princess glanced at the soldiers, most of them were a little far from the corner where she was hidden, but there was one quite close to her, equipped with a bow and arrows, perfect.
She grabbed a third chunk of concrete and tossed it towards the soldier, making enough noise so that only he could hear it, he slowly got closer and when he was almost in front of the column, Takevu quickly knocked him out and dragged him from behind the corner.
Takevu was aware that she couldn't just go for the kill, doing it could cause the soldiers to enter the queen's room when they realized they were getting attacked and she couldn't allow that until reinforcements arrived, so she went for the second best option, disable them from using their weapons.
She knew from personal experience that the worst thing that could happen to you in the battlefield was having one of your arms wounded, since you would be unable to use weapons, it was almost a secured death.
Taking the bow and arrows, the princess started shooting, first she shot a soldier that was on the right side of the room, feeling an arrow stab his shoulder he immediately screamed in pain, gathering the attention of his companions, Takevu shot a second arrow at another soldier, getting the same results.
When she heard the army from Genzo getting closer, she knew that the battle was won, so to give her people a small advantage, she shot her last arrow towards the ceiling, hitting a cracked spot and causing debris to fall down on the enemy before entering the battlefield along with her brother and soldiers.
While running to warn his guards that they were being attacked, Tai started thinking about how solid his relationship with Takevu was, not only did they complemented each other's personalities, they were also a great team in battle, and honestly, he felt a little guilty that he once thought she would replace his sister.
His thoughts were proven when they entered the battlefield, guarding each other's backs and covering each other's weaknesses.
The battle was extremely short, not only did they had the advantage on the numbers, but Takevu had also caused significant damage by making the ceiling fall.
Suddenly, Tai saw a soldier out of the corner of his eye, his heart sinking when he realized where he was going, his mother's room.
When he followed the guard and entered the room, he was meet with the image of the queen bleeding excessively after being stabbed, Tai was prepared to attack until he saw who the soldier was, the one who took his sister.
"You!" He said while clenching his jaw.
"Well, well, if it isn't Prince Tai" He said with a mocking voice "I'm still wondering why did my king let you live"
"What did you do to Safiya?" Anger was evident in his tone.
"Nobody knows your Highness" With a smug grin he said "I'm surprised you still remember her, especially considering you're calling someone else sister, are you so desperate that you decided to replace her?"
As soon as those words came out of his mouth Tai's vision went completely red, he couldn't believe that he of all people had the audacity to talk about Safiya and Takevu like that, so in a fit of fury he delivered a punch that knocked the guard out cold.
He was close to delivering a second attack when he heard his mother cough, the guard could wait, for now, it was important that his mother got out of this alive.
