For the first time in a while, everything seemed to be going the right way, if they won the war, something in which they had a lot of possibilities, the relationship between the kingdoms could be repaired after centuries, this would not only end any type of conflict but it would also help the economic situation that Yami was going through.
The day had actually been very quiet and relaxed, no battles planed, no issues to solve and everything was going smoothly.
That, until Haki was heard screeching as if he was being murdered.
Tai immediately grabbed his katana and rushed out of his office, when he followed his friend's screams, he ended up going towards the border of their camp, there he saw Haki being chased by a young woman who seemed to be the same age as him.
Without hesitation he jumped between them and blocked her weapon, making her flinch, there, he saw his opponent more clearly.
She was a tall, dark-browned haired and light-skinned woman, with a pair of golden eyes that seemed very familiar, while battling, he noticed that her fighting style was very direct and aggressive, while his was more calculated and elegant.
Despite that, she was a formidable opponent, one of the few that really gave him a challenge, but he just had the feeling that he knew her from somewhere.
After making him flinch, she swings her weapon against the prince, but Tai dodged and counterattacked, ripping some of the cloth and causing a small wound on her throat, he was prepared to deliver the next blow until his eyes landed on her neck.
There Tai saw that she had a peculiar birthmark, it had the shape of a small sun, but the most important part was that he only knew one person with said birthmark besides him, could it be?
"...Safiya?" He locked their eyes "Is that you?"
Her eyebrows lifted for a moment before she frowned them again, "How do you know my name?, Who are you?"
"It's me, Tai"
"Tai...*gasp*" She dropped her weapon and immediately ran and hugged him "It's really you!!"
It had been their first hug in 15 years "Safiya, you're alive" He said as tears of joy fell down his face "I thought I had lost you"
"No need to worry anymore brother" She was also tearing up "I'm here, We're here"
When they let go the hug, Safiya immediately noticed the scar on his eye "What happened to you?" She asked while cupping his cheek.
"Well I-" He was about to answer when he realized that telling her how he got his scar would also mean telling her about the Cheve Slaughter, and honestly, he didn't want her to know, not yet, so he lied "I- uh... I had an accident, don't worry though, it's already healed"
"Brother?"
"Safiya?"
Both royals turned their heads towards the voices, on one side there were Tai's siblings and on the other there was a group of mercenaries. Both parties were dumbfounded, the 2 people who were trying to kill each other were now suddenly hugging.
The twins shared a glance and after Tai made a signal for his siblings to go back to the camp, since there was no threat, they went to meet the group of mercenaries.
