Chapter 3- Yami's Prince

For how long had they been running? He didn't know and didn't care, right now, his main priority was to get them far, far away.

In the middle of the night it was very hard to know where to go, but it wasn't important, he had to protect them, even if it meant leaving behind the place they called home.

Haki is the crown prince of Yami, being Garon's son, you may think he is cruel and evil but that's a lie, he is actually really sweet and caring, although sometimes he can be a little sassy, something incredible about him is that, despite being a prince, he is a very humble teenager, this quality makes him very loved between his people.

He also has two younger siblings, Kumi and Roman, he considers them the most important people in his life and couldn't bare seeing something bad happen to them, his father on the other hand, well, he was a different story.

While he did love his father, he wasn't as close to him as he was with his siblings and a lot of times he just didn't understand him and although it may seem a little silly, he really wanted his father to tell him he loved him, something that ended up having its consequences.

In his case, he became obsessed, he wanted the approval of his father, he desired to make him proud, to hear him say that he was worthy of the throne, so, he did everything he could to please his father and even if most of the King's actions were highly questionable, Haki had such a need for his father's love that he ignored the bad stuff that Garon did.

But like with every obsession, it can kill you if you're not careful.

On a bad day, Garon was one of the scariest people on Earth, everyone, including his children and guards, feared him when he got angry and he wasn't exactly known for his patience.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT FAILED?" Garon slammed his fist on the table which made everyone flinch.

"T-The soldiers from Genzo counterattacked our troops" Kumi replied nervously.

"Incompetents!! They only had to kill the royals and leave!!" The King was furious.

"Father, the soldiers weren't prepared for such a big mission" Roman stated.

"SHUT UP!!" Suddenly Garon swings his axe towards his younger son.

Haki knew that when his father got the news that the army had failed with the ambush, he wouldn't be happy at all, but he never expected him to attack his own child.

In one moment he was standing on the left corner of the room and on the next he rushed himself between his siblings and the axe as his father cut his side open.

"You useless child!!" Garon snarled "I thought you couldn't get any more pathetic" The King left the room without caring for his wounded son.

"Brother why did you do it?" Roman asked full of concern.

His side felt as if it was burning and the blood on his mouth left him with a bad taste, however, his thoughts were directed towards his father's actions, all his life he believed that his father would love him once he proved himself as worthy, now, he wasn't so sure.

He realized that Garon didn't love any of them, no matter how much he tried to gain his affection or if they were his blood and flesh, he wouldn't hesitate to kill any of them if they were blocking his way and he was too blind to see it until it was too late.

Or was it? Even if he didn't have a chance to redeem himself, his siblings didn't do anything wrong, in that moment he knew that he had to save them, it wouldn't matter where they went, they would be alright as long as they were away from the toxicity and abuse of the person they called father.
