Epilogue- Beginning of the New Era

Despite knowing this moment would come since their birth, the twins were very nervous, after all, it was the day when they would be crowned as king and queen of Genzo.

Right now, they were making the last preparations before going towards the throne room where the people were waiting.

All voices fell silent when the doors of the throne room opened revealing the twins wearing their royal outfits, everyone, especially the older generation, was amazed by the future rulers, they looked exactly like their parents when they were young but still shined with their own uniqueness.

Seeing both royals walk together towards the throne was an image no one would ever forget.

When they arrived they both knelt down and the queen, who was able to wake up before the twins became of age, started speaking.

"People of Genzo, today we are reunited here to witness the coronation of Tai Hikari and Safiya as king and queen"

Two servants approached with their respective crowns, the queen took the king's crown and said towards Tai: "Prince Tai, do you promise to be a fair and noble king, to guide your people towards prosperity and to always perform in Genzo's benefit?"

"I promise" After those words the crown was placed on his head.

Taking the queen's crown, the former ruler said towards Safiya "Princess Safiya, do you promise to be a strong and honorable queen, to protect your people from conflict and to guide the army to keep Genzo safe?"

"I promise" The crown was placed on her head.

"Stand up" They both did and stared toward the people, which included their siblings and the royals from Yami.

"Citizens, now I present to you, King Tai and Queen Safiya, the new rulers of Genzo"

The cheers of the people were incomparable, everyone was exited for the new government of the royal twins.

After celebrating their coronation, night arrived for the newly crowned siblings and now they were both in Tai's room preparing to rest so the next day they can start their duty as monarchs.

The new king was on his balcony, staring at the sky full of stars.

"Deep in thought aren't you brother?" He heard the voice of his birth partner.

"You know that I like to analyze things Safiya" He gently smiled at her "We're the new rulers after all"

"... you still have your doubts don't you?"

"How do you know me so well?"

"Tai, I'm your twin sister, our connection is very especial and I can feel when you're worried or relaxed"

"Well, I guess I'm afraid of going through the wrong path"

"Do you fear becoming like the late king?"

"Not only him, when Haki told me his story about his childhood, he said Garon was a great ruler, but the loss of his wife made him insane" He continued.

"It made me realize that the reason behind his actions was the loss of someone he loved, what if I end like him?, I mean, I already messed up by declaring war, it's surprising people don't know"

"Tai, you won't end up like that, if you do then I'll kick you towards Yami"

"Pfft, yeah of course" He rolled his eyes playfully.

"But really, you have friends and family that will always be by your side, you have to see there is nothing to be afraid of"

"I know but, I felt that during the last battle all the process I had been doing through the war is now meaningless, I feel as if a new scar has formed, what if my scars can't heal?, what if I can't forgive myself?"

"Tai, listen to me" She locked their eyes "You probably don't notice it but, you made a lot more progress than you think, when I found you, you were an insecure, nervous and extremely serious young man, now, you're more cheerful, relaxed and expressive, that's something incredible" She continued.

"Just like the scar on your eye is healed, the scars in your heart are also healing, and believe me when I say that, as long as you trust in us, we'll be by your side during the whole process until your scars are closed"

After those words he immediately hugged her, it may take some time but, he is determined to keep their mother's memory and live happily, of course, there will be a lot of obstacles to come, but he knows he won't have to face them alone.

"Tai look" Both royals glanced at the sky to see the beautiful stars, it was the same image as the one they saw when they last stargazed along with their parents.

He smiled and said "I think mom and dad are seeing us right now and I'm sure that they can rest in peace knowing the rivalry between Genzo and Yami is finally over"

"You're right brother, and now we have to make sure to rule correctly over Genzo so that they know the kingdom is in the right hands"

"Let's rest then, tomorrow our government will begin"

They both knew things wouldn't be easy, they had a lot of things to repair, they had to break the stereotypes of the ruler and they were conscious that not everyone would be happy with their government.

But they would make it work, they were determined to guide Genzo towards a brighter future, war would never be forgotten but rather than a misfortune, they wanted it to be, just like Tai's scars, the Mark of the New Era Genzo was about to experiment.

They would rule until the time came when they would reunite with their ancestors, watching the next generations from above along the stars.
