Chapter 20

"Hey Alexis," said Kate as she stepped into her college dorm (this is her 3rd year of college). "Hi Kate," said Alexis as she closed the door. "Do you have a roommate?" asked Kate. "No, she moved out last month." replied Alexis. "Come sit next to me." she said motioning for Kate to sit on the bed with her. Kate sat down and asked, "So what did you want to talk about?" Kate noticed that Alexis started to tear up when she asked, so she gave her a big hug and waited patiently for a response. About one minute later Alexis said, "So I met this cute guy at the last dance, and he seemed nice. The next day I got a text from him asking if I wanted to go on a date. I decided I wanted to go, and he texted me the address to his house so I could pick him up. When I got there he..." Alexis started crying and Kate was pretty sure she knew what happened next. "He raped me," she said between sobs. Once she stopped crying, Alexis looked Kate in the eyes and whispered, "I'm pregnant." "Oh Alexis," said Kate. "Everything will be okay." Then Kate noticed that Alexis was wearing a baggy sweatshirt and she asked, "How far along are you?" "5 months tomorrow," Alexis replied clinging to Kate. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" asked Kate. "I don't know. I just wanted to keep it a secret, to make it seem like it didn't happen. I just kept up my school work and didn't tell anyone, but then I got a baby bump. For the last month I haven't gone to my classes, because I don't want to be laughed at. I have gone on the teachers' websites, done the homework, and have had another girl turn it in for me, but I just don't know how to keep doing this alone," said Alexis. "This school has the courses online right?" asked Kate. "Yeah, why?" replied Alexis. "How about you move back in with your father and I. You can change all your classes to be online, and take them at home. Then, we can help you through your pregnancy, and help you take care of the baby. Would that work?" asked Kate. "Yes," replied Alexis still hugging Kate. "Can I see your baby bump?" asked Kate. Alexis then stood up and pulled up her sweatshirt revealing a small rounded tummy. "Wow," said Kate. "Mine looked like that at about two months. I suppose that is because I have two." Kate pointed to her belly as she said the last part. This made Alexis laugh a little, which Kate was glad for. "What was the guy's name?" asked Kate. "Jackson Gage," replied Alexis. "How about you go transfer your classes to online and pack your things," Kate said. "Okay," replied Alexis. "Text me when that is done," said Kate. "Thank you," replied Alexis as Kate stood up and walked to the door. "You're welcome," replied Kate.

Once Kate got back to her car, she took out her phone and found the address to Jackson Gage's apartment. Then she immediately drove there. Once outside his door, she heard a woman scream. "Well that is probable cause," she thought as she kicked down the door. "NYPD," yelled Beckett. "Jackson Gage you are under arrest for rape and assault," she said cuffing him. Then she noticed a young blond girl scrambling to find clothes. Kate turned around with Jackson, so that the girl could have some privacy while getting dressed. After a minute she turned back around to see the blond girl staring at her. "What is your name and age?" Kate asked the girl. "Lisa Talbot, 17," the girl replied. "What did he do to you?" Kate asked. "He raped and hit me," she whispered. "Follow me," Kate said to the Lisa. She locked Jackson in the police car and called Esposito. "Hey Espo," she said as she answered the phone. "Beckett?" he asked. "Yeah, I need you and Ryan to get down here. The address is..... Tell Castle to meet me at home and that I will be there in about an hour." "Okay," he said and hung up. "Lisa," said Kate. "Yeah," she responded shyly. "I am guessing you don't want to get pregnant right?" Kate asked. "No, I don't," she quickly said. "Do you want me to take you to the store to get a pill so you won't become pregnant?" Kate asked. "No, I will do it myself, but thanks." she responded. "Can I leave now?" Lisa asked. "No, my detectives need to take your statement first. Sorry," replied Kate. Just after Kate said this, Ryan and Esposito pulled up. Beckett took Jackson out of the car and walked him over to the confused Ryan and Espo. "Esposito, can you please escort Mr. Gage back to the precinct and process him for rape and assult. Ryan, I need you to take Lisa's statement," said Kate gesturing to Lisa. They both still had confused looks on their faces so Kate said, "Alexis told me she had been raped by Jackson, so I came here and found him abusing and raping Lisa Talbot." "Oh," they replied and did what Kate told them to.

On the way home Kate got a text from Alexis saying she transferred her classes to online and packed what little she had. Kate pulled over the car and typed "Can you fit all the stuff in your car?" then pressed send. Five seconds later she got a response from Alexis saying, "Yes." "Put it in your car and drive home. See you soon!" Kate sent back. "Ok, I'm on my way." Alexis responded. Then Kate continued driving home. "Where were you?" asked Castle once Kate got through the door. "I went to see Alexis," she responded. "What did she say?" asked Castle. "She is coming here tonight to talk to you. You will find out then," responded Kate. "Please tell me," he begged. "No, I told her I wouldn't tell you," said Kate. "I am going to take a shower. Do you want to join me?" "Sure," replied Castle. In the shower they washed each other and Castle massaged Kate's belly. About twenty minutes after they got out of the shower and had gotten dressed, Alexis rang the doorbell. "Hey Alexis," said Castle. He was going to hug her and twirl her around, but she stepped aside and went over to sit down next to Kate. "How are my siblings?" asked Alexis. "They are very good. Would you like to know their names?" Kate asked. "You picked out their names?" she asked looking at her dad who was now seated across from her. "Yes we did," replied Castle. "So do you want to know what they are? "Sure!" said Alexis excitedly. "The boy is Cosmo Roy Castle," said Castle. "And the girl is Johanna Lanie Castle," finished Beckett. "So what brings you here Alexis?" asked Castle. Alexis looked over at Kate, and Kate nodded and held her hand. Castle sent Kate a questioning look, but Alexis started talking before she could respond. "I met this cute guy at the dance, and he asked me out on a date. I went to his house to pick him up, and he took me inside and raped me." stated Alexis trying not to cry. "When was this?" asked Castle. "5 months ago," replied Alexis. "And Dad, (pause) he got me pregnant." Kate gave Alexis a hug while he was digesting this information. "You're five months pregnant?" Castle asked. "Yes," replied Alexis. "What is this guy's name and where can I find him?" asked Castle angrily. "His name is Jackson and you can find him in jail," said Kate. "I arrested him about 3 hours ago." He them got up and hugged his daughter and rubbed her belly like he does with Kate. "I told her she can move back in with us," said Kate. "Okay," Castle replied happily. "When are you moving back?" asked Castle. "Now," responded Alexis. "All my stuff is in the car." "Well since neither of you can lift anything since you are both pregnant, I will go get everything by myself." said Castle as he walked to the door. Kate hugged Alexis again and they both stretched out of the couch. "Can I feel my siblings?" asked Alexis. "Sure," replied Kate pulling up her shirt. "Have they started to kick yet?" She asked. "Yeah, so maybe you will be able to feel them." Kate replied. Alexis gently placed her had on Kate's belly waiting patiently to feel a kick. "I am not feeling any kicks," said Alexis frowning. "Just keep your hand there and maybe you will feel one. "Have you gone to a five month ultrasound yet?" Kate asked Alexis. "Not yet," she replied. "Well at the appointment, they can tell you the gender of the baby," said Kate. "Will you come to mine with me?" Alexis asked Kate. "Of course I will," Kate replied. Alexis pulled up her shirt and asked, "Do you want to feel my belly?" "Sure," replied Kate. Both girls, fell asleep like that with a hand on each other's belly.
