Letting out a short groan as she groggily opens her eyes, Emma blinks rapidly to try to get use to the light.
Well, the small amount of light present in this room. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, which seemed pretty simple.
There was a small bed, wardrobe, desk, some shelves with some leather-bound books on them and some odd objects placed here and there like a bottle of rum.
Where the hell is she? As she moves her head, a sharp pain in her head cries out, causing her to curse under her breath.
Moaning, her hand flies up to her head and as she gingerly touches it, she realises that it's slightly swollen. Was she hit over the head? She struggles slightly and sighs in frustration as she realises that she's tied to the chair she's sitting on. What on Earth happened?
"Don't try to struggle. You won't be able to get out. If there's one thing a pirate knows how to do, it's tying knots that don't come undone." A man says.
Looking up from the ropes tied around her hands, she watches as a man strides in, the door flinging open with a bang.
Hook. He must've kidnapped her. She should've known not to trust a pirate! Placing her frustration aside, her blood boils with anger for the stupid one-handed pirate currently smirking at her.
"Damn you, Hook!" Emma shouts, spitting at him slightly.
"Yes. Yes. Enough of that now."
"What did you do to me? Why does my head hurt so much?"
"I knocked you out with my hook. It will probably leave a mark." He laughs slightly, clearly finding her anger very funny. She just growls in response, her annoyance growing.
"Easy tiger."
"What do you want with me?"
"I want money." he whispers, getting closer to Emma.
She fights the urge to roll her eyes as more and more of his personality reveals itself to her. She knows his type. She's dealt with many men like this in the past. Men who only care about two things. Money and themselves.
They also just so happen to think that they're the best thing to ever roam the Earth, even though they're most definitely not. She hates men like that. Greedy little bastards.
"I was going to give you money for the bean. I stole lots from my parents." She fires back, causing him to chuckle slightly and raise his eyebrows.
"I thought there was some pirate in you, Swan. You're just like me, always looking out for yourself. Anyway, I want more money than you were offering."
Emma scowls in response, feeling disgusted by the comparison. She was nothing like him. She wasn't some dirty, villainous, back-stabbing, lying pirate.
But you did steal from your parents, who were just trying to look out for you, a tiny voice in the back of her head reminds her.
And for the first time since she did it, she feels a pang of guilt race through her heart. And maybe even slightly regrets doing it.
If she hadn't, she'd be with her family right now not stuck on a pirate ship. Oh god, what if she never sees them again?
What if they never find out what happened to her? And suddenly she feels very homesick and wishes she could see them, hug them and apologise profusely. She should never have left.
"So, you think knocking me out and tying me up will make me give you more. I'm not going to give you anything after this."
"Oh, but you will. I'm going to keep you on my ship for a bit and then send a letter to your parents, saying I'll let you go if they give me quite a large sum of money. You see I know how to recognize a desperate soul. You are desperate to get wherever. And your parents are desperate to find you. I merely took advantage of that."
