You're beautiful, his eyes seemed to say.

I like that dress, his tinted cheeks whispered.

I am awestruck, his parted lips mused.

I stood frozen at the threshold of the ballroom, my brown eyes locked with Romeo's blue ones. The world had stopped on its axis... or so it seemed to me.

I couldn't hear anything, I didn't see anything except the eyes that without trying had made me their prisoner. I didn't even know if I was breathing anymore because the sight in front of me had knocked the breath out of my lungs.

Romeo stood inside the ballroom talking to an old lady yet his attention had been diverted by me when I had somehow, someway in a room full of people wearing luxurious sparkling dresses and jewels caught his eyes.

I couldn't look away from those eyes to comprehend what I had to do. Did I have to move? What was I here for again?

I was only able to break eye contact with him when I felt someone nudging their elbow into my ribs. I averted my gaze from Romeo to look at Cathy standing beside me, frowning at my statued figure.

Once I looked at her, the frown wore off and she brought her hands down to her pink ballgown to brush nonexistent dirt off it.

"You're attracting attention and as a sister I thought it my duty to inform you. Also you need to stop doing that." She articulated in an elegant voice she only ever used this time of the year. She said it suited the environment of the ball if she appeared as royal as she could.

I looked around the room to see that I was indeed attracting the attention of mostly girls close to my age.

"Wait. Stop doing what?" I asked, confused.

"I deeply apologize for my language but you need to stop eye-fucking Romeo Gibson." She whispered, concerned about others hearing her use of foul language. The horror!

"I wasn't eye-" I started, "wait... where did you learn that?"

"It doesn't matter, dear sister." She turned around and disappeared in the crowd of people leaving me wondering whether I should tell mom or not about Cathy swearing.

No. I swore more than her and she would probably expose me if I tell mom. Even worse, she might tell her the words I'd been teaching Danny.

I shook my head to rid it of Cathy's unusually accurate royal disposition. My eyes went back to where they had been gawking at Romeo only to feel a presence behind me.

Strong, masculine arms snaked around my waist holding me in place. I felt a tickle at the back of my ear as the person behind me breathed in.

Why is someone sniffing my-

"Juliet." he whispered and the question left as soon as it had arrived.

Romeo.

My breathing picked up when I turned my head and realized how close I was to Romeo's cheeks, how easy it would be to kiss the subtle stubble he hadn't shaved. That was until he turned and instead of his cheeks, my lips were directly in line with his lips.
