Ignore the mistakes

______

Shoes crunch on the leaves and flowers as Sung-dae walks on top of them. With an heavy beating heart, Sung-dae forced himself to go to the tree.

As he got closer to it, he felt the familiar warmth to it. Memories flash in his head as he think about Youngho.

Their moments were so beautiful until it turned into a sorrowful story.

The cherry blossom tree was just sitting there alone. The king could see the initials from a mile away.

The tree stretch out it's branches and made this huge space for it's flowers to fall down on the grass.

The sun peaks through the shadows and shines on the pink leaves.

Sung-dae runs towards it, wanting to be under it and finally see the initials after years of not being here.

His eyes were teary as he traces his fingers on the carved letters, reminiscing their love.

"I miss you." Sung-dae whispers.

"I'm sorry."

"I didn't fight for our love."

"Please come back to me."

"I know it's my fault."

"I know I hurt you."

"If I see you again, you can curse at me, slap me, but please don't hate me."

Sung-dae puts his head down, eyes looking at the grass and the blossoms that fell from the tree.

His hands were still on the initials, tracing it as he felt tingles from it.

A blow a wind passes by, making the tree rustles and the air smell of something fresh.

As the wind rolls pass him, Sung-dae looks up to see the blossom petals fly in the sky.

A sweet smell suddenly invades his nostrils, having Sung-dae to look around for it...the person. He remembers that smell like it was yesterday.

The smell of vanilla beans.

Sung-dae looks around everywhere. He just knew his mate was somewhere under his nose. He could smell him.

The bound was still there after all these years.

Sung-dae keeps looking around but his eyes halts when he quickly spots a silhouette. His brown eyes stare right at him with a frown on his face.

The bound was still there but it felt on a verge of breaking as soon as their eyes locked. Sung-dae's eyes became teary and puffy just looking at his mate stand far from him.

Youngho had a tear run down his face from one eye as he tried to keep the tear in from the other eye.

Youngho should be running up to his mate crying his eyes out my his feet was just frozen. He couldn't after what happened since before sung-dae's wedding. They were in their twenty's and now they're getting older– in their forties.

It's been so long since they've seen each other and all Youngho could do was let out a silent cry.

He wanted to yell, yell all his pain out to the other. Tell him how much misery Sung-dae has caused them, especially after having a child with Gi-Han.

He thought they were happy.

Youngho was so jealous of Gi-Han. She got to touch his mate, be married with his mate, have a child with his mate while he spent all those years trying to cope with the heartbreak.

Yes, he did ran away for the rest of his young adult years. But he came back because he couldn't help but stay in Seoul.

He hid himself from the world, where no one could find him in a part of Seoul. When he had time, he'll visit the cherry blossom tree.

The only place that gave him comfort even being so angry at Sung-dae.

He watched the wedding and he will admit, Youngho was proud of sung-dae but there was still this void hanging above his head.

He envied Taehyung's relationship with his mate. As soon as Jeongguk ran into that ball room, he instantly knew that they fought to get Taehyung out that forced marriage.

Why couldn't that happen to him and Sung-dae? Was it just fate playing with them?

The only thing Youngho has in his life is his adopted daughter. Youngho adopted her when she was just little a girl. She was the core to Youngho's heart since he and Sung-dae separated.

He could say that his daughter saved him from his agony.

Their feet were still stuck to the ground, hearts beating as fast a sound waves.

Youngho spoke up, voice cracking in the process, "You decided that you'll look f-for me now?"

Sung-dae's heart dropped. He always thought about finding Youngho. His own problems kept him from finding his mate. His beautiful beta.

"I always had you in my mind, Youngie. I always wanted to find you." Sung-dae said, his voice wavering.

Youngho shook his head, finally dragging his feet to Sung-dae.

Before his eyes, Youngho had slapped him. It was so fast that Sung-dae couldn't even catch it.

Sung-dae's face with coated with shock. This is not how he imagined their reunited moment to be.

He knew Youngho was going to be pissed but not this pissed. Sung-dae understands the beta.

He wasn't mad at him.

After all, it was his fault why they couldn't be together in the first place. At least he thought that.

"All these years, I've tried my best trying to overcome our departure but I just couldn't. It was at a point where I literally hid myself and adopted my daughter so I won't feel so alone!" Youngho yells.

"You never came to this tree, why now!?" He begins to sob, hand hitting sung-dae's chest.

Sung-dae didn't say anything. He just let the words of his mate dug deep into his heart.

"I hate you, I hate you so much but I still want you." Youngho slides to the ground to his knees, feeling Sung-dae do the same.

"I still love you." He muttered.

Sung-dae hesitantly puts his hand on Youngho's head, caressing the brunette.

"I'm sorry, Youngho. I'm so sorry, love." Sung-dae lets his tears run down his face even harder as he sobs, putting his face into Youngho's neck.

He wraps his arms around Youngho's torso, holding him as tight as possible. With all the emotions flowing through the air, Sung-dae said those three words that made Youngho cry even harder then before and convince himself that their bound hasn't been broken.

"I love you."
