1 month to the wedding (still??)

The moment I step into school, I'm greeted by dirty looks and whispers from the kids standing around the lockers. That's weird

What a slut...

You'd think with that face, she would learn to keep away from the guys

Why are you guys surprised, she's always been like that

And those were considered some of the "friendlier" comments I heard.

I take a turn around the corner of the hallway before I'm stopped by a certain someone. The girl from before, one Lucas' flings.

"So who did you sleep with this time, Haera? First, it was Johnny. Then you went after Lucas. And now you're hitting up your best friend's guy? Looks like Dami's pretty unlucky to have you as a best friend," she says with a smirk.

I roll my eyes at her and hoist my bag higher up my shoulder as I try to walk away, but she takes another step forward to block me. "Aw, can't even fight back? You should have known your place then. Let's be real, you don't deserve any of them," she snickers, her friends laughing a long as well like some kind of teenage drama.

"Okay but first, who are you again? I don't remember you being relevant in my life so I'd appreciate if you stick you nose out of my business," I retort back to her before walking in the other direction. Everyone's piercing gazes are still on me and it takes every ounce of my strength not to break down right here and now.

I immediately head straight to the bathroom and gasp for air. I didn't even realize that I was holding my breath the whole time I was walking here.

As if on cue, Dami walks into the bathroom but the moment she sees me, she turns on her heel and walks out. I pull on her arm, her still resisting but eventually giving up when I call out her name.

"Dami, what's going on?"

She turns towards me with a look I've never seen her with before. She narrows her eyes at me with a coldness that doesn't seem like her.

"Are you really going to play dumb and pretend you weren't hitting on my boyfriend?" she hisses.

I look at her in bewilderment. I've never even thought of doing such a thing.

"Don't look at me like that, Minhee showed me all the evidence. I honestly would have never thought that you would do this to me," she mutters softly, but coldly enough to make me loosen my grip. She takes this opportunity to yank her hand away from me. "Don't talk to me ever again, please."

She walks away, leaving me in the dark and dingy bathroom to wonder what exactly happened.

"What? Dami thinks you've been flirting with me? Is that why she wouldn't answer any of my calls this morning?" Mark asks me in a panic.

I feel awful. Not only did I lose my best friend over a stupid rumour, I also ruined her relationship.

I nod, resting my head on my arm. "She said something about some girl called Minji giving her evidence but I really don't know what she's talking about..." I stop there, no idea how to salvage the situation. None of my other friends would talk to me and I keep getting called a slut by every person I walk past. Even though I know I shouldn't be even seen near Mark right now, I can't help but appreciate his company.

"What's up guys? Wait, why the long face, princess?" Lucas slides down to the chair next to me.

"You really shouldn't be talking to me, Lucas. There's a rumour going around that I'm messing around with a bunch of guys," I glance at Mark who's staring at the table with wave of sadness in his eyes, "And I've ruined his relationship in the process."

Mark immediately snaps back to attention and attempts to comfort me, "Come on Haera, please don't blame yourself. It's not your fault, we need to find whoever this Minji person is and fix this."

"Wait, did you just say Minji?" Lucas suddenly jumps in, scaring both me and Mark with his deafeningly loud voice.

Both of us calm ourselves down and nod. "I know her, we used to..." Lucas trails off, trying to figure out a way to word his sentence.

"Hook up?" I offer, feeling a tinge of hatred in my chest after realizing that the girl I bumped into in the hallway was probably Minji, Lucas' ex and the person who got me into this mess.

Lucas' cheeks turn the slightest bit pink and he immediately shakes his head, "No! I mean, yeah, but that was before. I'm not like that anymore, I swear, princess."

I chuckle, "You don't have to justify yourself. What does is matter what I think?"

Lucas' mouth curves downwards ever so slightly but before he can say anything, Mark cuts in to ask Lucas where we can find Minji.

~

Which is how we find ourselves loitering around the entrance of Gucci.

"Are you kidding me? She shops at Gucci? How on earth did you manage to get such a girl?" I ask Lucas incredulously.

He smirks at me and wiggles his eyebrows. "Well, these looks can pretty much get me any girl...except one." He mumbles the last part so softly that I almost can't catch it. Almost.

Mark suddenly jumps up and points towards Minji sashaying her way out of the store. All three of us panic because somehow, we forgot to create a plan of action.

"Uh okay, how about this? Lucas, you confront her while Haera and I stick behind here as backup," Mark suggests. Lucas begins to protest but I shove him towards Minji before he can do so.

"Lucas?" Minji lifts her sunglasses up to get a better look at him.

Lucas shifts his eyes around and scratches his head. "Yeah, um, hi Minji..."

I'm not sure if you guys remember but this girl, Minji, is actually from chapter 8
