13. Arrogant monster

"We have only known each other for a few days and you already know me so well."

Those were the very words that Ran had said to me. Ran! Though this name crossed my mind from time to time but I had almost forgotten the details about that incident or let's say his last moment. In fact it was like I never did remember it.

"Hey monster. What's wrong with you?" Her voice broke my trance. "You have been ignoring me since the morning. Don't tell me you are playing that mission ignore ghosts again? It's just been like three days since you started talking to me."

"Leave me alone." I said sternly.

"Do you have to be so arrogant?" I heard her say.

I wasn't always so arrogant and ignorant towards ghosts. Though they used me, threatened me and even stalked me, I was only afraid of them but I just couldn't ignore them and their despair. In fact I even used to do what they told me to do.

But then he came. He was the first ghost who didn't threaten me or ordered me around instead he befriended me and kept the other ghosts away from me.

"And do you always have to be so irritating?" My voice sounded harsher than I meant.

I thought Ran was my friend but I was just being delusional. He never considered me as his friend. For him I was just a body which he wanted to possess and just because he didn't have enough strength to possess me, he won my trust and made me lower down my guards.

"Did you just call me irritating?" She huffed. "Like you know someday this stupid courageous mouth of yours is going to be the death of you."

All ghosts were the same. They just wanted to use me.

"Just leave me alone." I said before getting up from the couch and making my way to my room. It was better to not get involved with ghosts.

"Okay fine! I will just go and play with my handsome boy."

"Don't disturb him." I almost immediately turned to look at her and she grinned cheekily, probably because of my reaction.

"Jealous?" She paused. "If you admit that you are jealous then I'll play with you and not him."

"Just fuck off." Clenching my fist, I turned around and walked towards my room.

"You are just so mean." I heard her shout.

Sigh! Why the hell do I react so foolishly whenever she brings up Cabir?

I entered my room closing the door behind me with a bang. I was irritated, angry - scratch it - I couldn't comphrehend my own feelings.

I wanted to stay away from her but I didn't want her to stay away from me.

"I think I seriously need to go and consult a psychiatrist." I mumbled to myself before switching off the light and throwing myself on the bed.

N A N D I N I

"Hey Cabir. You have any idea what's wrong with that monster?" I asked as I sat on the bed. He was laying on his bed with his full attention on his phone. He was busy playing some stupid fruit ninja game. Jeez for him even games were all about food.

I laid down beside him. "I mean he always acts arrogant but today he is acting unusually arrogant. You understand what I am trying to say right?"
