-Angela-
1 week has passed, and everything didn't go smoothly. During the first days, Hades hasn't been kind to me ever since. He made me clean his whole library and made sure I wouldn't miss a spot otherwise, I would repeat everything from the beginning again.
His favorite line? "Missed a spot" I can't actually remember how many times he told me that, but there are incidents that I could never forget.
(At the library)
After cleaning the first row of the books, I went to the second row. I took one towel and wiped off the dusk in the area of the shelf.
"Hey. Come here."
I frowned silently but just decided to go to him to avoid creating spark to an argument, it's too early for that.
"You missed the spot" He showed me the hair strand that was lodged between the book pages.
"But it's just one piece of hair, your majesty. It's not a dusk"
"Dirt still covers it. Isn't the dust that is stuck on this one, disgusting?"
He took my hand and placed the hair in my palm before squeezing it shut. Hades went back to his chair, putting his glasses on, and began reading a pile of papers.
Stay calm, my dear self. Don't let him get to you.
"Repeat the entire process again. Remove every book from the first row and inspect each one individually to see if there is any remaining dirt."
Unable to hide myself from being completely astounded, my wide eyes soon turn to enraging glare.
"Are you Insane?! Remove it all? Do you know how many books you had in the first row?!"
"500"
I felt my blood boiling in anger, my muscles tensed up, I turned my hands into fist but I held myself from punching him. I could not do things without thinking. That would lead to a much worse situation.
But damn! I really hate this God!
"I didn't ask for that answer"
"You undoubtedly did. I responded directly to your question about the number of books I have on the front row. I thus advise you to start checking it immediately rather than making plans to punch me because there are a total of 8 rows on this shelf. You will have 7 rows remaining if you finish cleaning the first row in an hour. And you have one day to complete everything. So start now, or, Ms. Reinhart, do I have to force you to work?"
I gritted my teeth and faked a smile before I went back and sat in the corner in front of the lower row, removing all the fixed fine books and restarting everything I did back to the beginning.
Just a few more weeks and I'll leave this freaking hell.
(Hades' room)
"You missed the spot"
"But it's one crumpled paper for Pete's sake!"
I yelled at him, making Hades raise one of his eyebrows.
"Are you raising your voice at me?"
"Umm.. Well... I-"
"Do I need to start preparing the judges right away? Or would you want to take this paper here?"
Moving forward, I approach his desk. I chose to crouch down and take the one lousy piece of paper, even though I didn't want to comply with his demands.
"Mean stupid old God. Old Stupid stupid stup-"
"Do you mind sharing to me who you're calling an stupid old God?" Hades spoke fiercely.
