Mount. Olympus
-Hades-
My footsteps echoed in the hallway, servants bowed their heads as a sign of respect when they saw me.
The hallway was beautiful, made of colored white marble but I'm not very impressed. Mine was still the best.
If you're going to compare the designs of both domains I could have the best compliments. Zeus' palace was only decorated with simple paintings, mine was decorated with golds, sapphires, and rubies.
I stopped at the center and looked up, I saw a chandelier hanging in the ceiling. I smirk at the idea of thinking that mine was still better.
If their chandelier was only decorated with white candles and a few pearls, mine was decorated with gemstone and diamonds. Every color of diamonds was hung there.
After judging the place, I made my way to the throne room where the meeting of the Gods was held.
I wish I could say that I'm happy to be here but that would be lying.
I have no idea why Zeus requested me here but all I know is I want to get out of this place as much as possible.
I hate blinding myself with too much light coming from the outside. Perhaps because I used to live in the dark.
I couldn't remember my last visit here to Olympus. Maybe 3000 years. or more? The time wherein I ask my brother for help in abducting Persephone, my wife. He said yes and I happily did as planned. I got her, but during the first days, things didn't go the way I thought they should be, but I reminded myself to be patient because I know that one day she'll return the love I gave her.
And so she did. But that love was meant to last only for a short period of a decade, not for a lifetime. And now, days turn to months, months turn to years, and years turn to decades and we still both live side by side, but never the same as before.
Maybe because I'm too hideous to be loved. Everyone thinks I'm a beast and is afraid of me, including the gods.
I stopped in front of these white doors with a gold doorknob. I took a heavy breath and opened them slowly.
All eyes were glued to me but I maintain my composure and went straight to my throne next to my brother Poseidon on the left and Athena on the right.
'Great. I'm in the middle of these two rivals.'
"Welcome brother. Haven't seen you in centuries" Zeus greeted with a smile. I show no emotion while narrowing my eyes at him.
"What could be the reason that you requested me here?" The whole room was silent and it always was, whenever I'm here of course.
"Right. Well, Demeter was the reason why. She wants to see your presence."
'Demeter? What does she want now?'
I looked at the woman who was sitting on her throne on the other side.
She shows no expression on her face but that acting isn't enough for me not to notice that she is irritated.
"My daughter. Persephone wants freedom from your prison. She asks me for help to tell you about this since she can't say it in person."
"Why? She spent half of the year in your hands. Isn't that enough?"
I don't know why, but I'm feeling my blood boil through my body as I keep looking at my sister.
"Calm down brother. Let's all civilly talk about this"
